It's a toss up between putting this here instead of "About the forums".

I remember the last couple of times I've asked about letting regular posters become moderators, there was a lot of interest.

Is that interest still there?  Or are there some lingering questions?

Have you seen the thread in the "about the forums" section?  The applications are there, but I haven't seen yours.

If you can't be awesome, then be adequate.

That's a motivational poster, I think.

My lingering question is this:
Can I send in a business card that has a picture of me on it?

Or is that too little?

I'd prefer something a little larger, but I'll accept it.  Maybe draw on the back of it or something.

Well at another forum I go to, the admins set it up so that the thread creator could move and lock their own threads.  Something like that might work better than making people mods.

@Ryu: Im going to be honest, you arent very level headed in terms of forum moderating, you tend to be a bit biased when it comes to arguments drama stuff :T

I got money on however many seconds it takes to log into the SMF forum moderator panel and ban someone. If it's anything like invision. About 10-15 seconds.

Too much unneeded drama. Too many people would bitch, and the mods would remove me just to keep people from bitching.

Moderators lack the direct power to ban.

They can recommend a ban or other action to the admins (there is a special moderator-only place for that), but ultimately, the admins handle punishment or discipline.   This is essentially a hand-brake for drama.

I'm not as active on the forums lately, but I still lurk and check things out on a regular basis. Recently, it doesn't really seem like more moderators have been really necessarily, but I'm interested. :J

sending in a postcard/item to apply for a mod position? interesting choice.

i'll give it a shot. its a good excuse to use our postal service once again instead of e-mail.

one question, though: since you put out the call for mods, how many postcards/various things have you actually gotten in the mail from people who are interested?

(side note: HAHAHA, just noticed mikey's birthday is during Yaoi-con)

I just went through a few business cards...and the only one that has a clear back is an old business card from last year. @_@ Nothing relating to me. I'll find something...How soon do you need this thingy?
