Hello everyone,

The is the Official Information page for the World Cosplay Summit Preliminaries. If you have any questions at all, please ask them here, or message me with your questions. It's a self-run panel this year that I will be in charge of. It is independent from the cosplay department, and it does not affect the FanimeCon Masquerade in any way.

Please read everything very carefully.

INFORMATION
When: Sunday, May 30th from 1030AM to 3PM (for audition times)
Where: The prelims will be located in the San Jose Convention Center (SJCC) Room F [Second Floor (Exhibit Level) of the SJCC, on the Hilton Side]

* It is not necessary to coordinate costumes for the parade.

6. Please prepare your own music for your performance. A performance sheet stating what you will perform is to be submitted in advance.
*Please note that the use of the voice(s) of the original voice actor(s) for the music is prohibited.
*Please send your music on a CD.
7. Please send the documents and CD one month prior to the date of the Cosplay Championship.

Since there isn't any audio hook ups and such, is there going to be any skit performances at all? Or is it strictly craftmanship?

TokyoKitty

There will be a skit portion to this as well as craftsmanship. I will handle the audio problem in the room. This, rather than a full event, will be handled more like an audition.

Should we supply/create audio just in case?

TokyoKitty

Yes. You will want to make a CD with your skit. The skits can be no longer than 3 minutes. I will include more info about this when I get the rules posted ^^

What time is your panel? I don't see it on the schedule. (or rather WHAT will it be called.)

Marisa: You are very welcome ^^

Dany: With how the event will be structured this year, I do not believe we will have room for an audience. It is going to be more like an audition. If you know a pair that will be competing and you wish to be there to watch them, I can work something out for you.

slifertheskydragon: The panel will be 1030AM to 3PM respectively. It isn't currently listed in with the other panels. All participants will need to send me a resume prior to the event and fulfill the requirements. More information will be posted after this weekend in regards how to be a part of this ^^ Please check back on Monday if you are interested.

The-O: I will need to get press information for you and let you know.

Will the participants be required to stay for the entire duration of the panel (from 10:30-3PM) or will there be designated performance times?

TokyoKitty

You can stay if you would like to through the rest of the performances, but you will have a designated performance time and will only be required to be there for that.

*I should go back to modify this: We want you to stay for the rest of the performances unless you have another panel, meeting, etc you have already said you would be at. Let me know in advance*

Edo

Hi all,

I'm Edo, an organizer for the WCS event and looking forward to being at FanimeCon for the preliminary coming up. I hope we can have people watching the stage but it depends on how things work out.

Remy - You can pm me with any questions you have, if you are interested in the event regulations (keep in mind these rules are only for the final, preliminaries have the flexibility to set rules that are applicable to each participating country)  http://www.tv-aichi.co.jp/wcs/2009/e/event/wcs_reg1.php

Thanks to Laura and Marisa!

Looks like you might have been cut off mid-edit. My understanding is that it would depend on the room setup?

You are correct ^^ We have a smallish room since we asked for the panel space a bit on the late side. We at least want as many of the groups as possible to stay and watch the other performances, but we will have restrictions on how many other can be in the room to watch just because of space reasons.

I would prefer PDF, but word docs, or even note pad files are fine. JPGs on the images.
