Gather round, heroes and villains, for FanimeCon 2011's Legend of Zelda gathering. I would love everybody to share their thoughts on how to make this an awesome gathering. So if you have ideas for great pictures, be they serious or silly, please don't be shy.

Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

New Year's Bump!

All the names on the gathering list so far have come from the cosplay.com thread, so check it out if you want to get a sense of who's coming so far. But don't be shy about posting here either. Many cosplayers in the other thread have multiple Zelda costumes and there is interest in possibly doing a second gathering. If enough people want to do that, I wouldn't mind hosting it as well. Also, we should start talking about scheduling. I'm planning for Saturday or Sunday (if there's only one gathering) so if you have a preference, speak up now.

Having learned that a number of people who wish to attend the Zelda gathering will be involved with the masquerade, I've decided that the gathering will not be held on the same day as that event. Once the day for the masquerade has been confirmed (I'm guessing it'll be on Saturday like it has been for the last few years), we can nail down when we will meet.

The Fanime Masquerade has been confirmed for Sunday, so the Zelda gathering will officially be held on Saturday. Let's start talking about what time is good for people. My current thinking is to have it in the afternoon around 3 or 4. If you have an idea, please speak up, otherwise I will schedule with impunity. >:)

My friend and I should be attending as Skull Kid and Young Link (respectively) a la Majora's Mask so long as this doesn't end up at the same time as the Kingdom Hearts gathering <3

Looks like the Kingdom Hearts gathering is scheduled for 5PM on Saturday. We look to be aiming around 4PM on Saturday for the Zelda gathering. Think you could drop by?

Cool, I'll add you to the list.  ;D The reason why it'll most likely be at 4 is because there are a few people who stated that they also wish to attend the Final Fantasy gathering at 1PM that day and want to have enough time to switch out of their costumes.

I have submitted my request to the head of Cosplay Gatherings to hold the Zelda gathering on Saturday at 4PM. I have not received confirmation yet, which appears to be due to the head wishing to nail down all the large (60+ attendees) gatherings into the schedule first. As soon as it becomes official, I will post it here. For the location, I have requested the corner tree area between the Marriott and the convention center. If you attended last year's gathering, this is the same location.

If you have any other thoughts or ideas about the scheduling or what you'd like to see happen at the gathering, please don't be shy.

I will also be running the Nintendo/Super Smash Bros. gathering this year, which is looking to happen on Friday at 4PM. It will be an all-inclusive Nintendo gathering, so those of you with other Zelda costumes to wear or who can't make the Zelda gathering on Saturday are more than welcome to attend.
