I didn't make it to the scheduled feedback, so I thought I'd make a thread for it.

Overall, there seemed to be a lot more issues with running the video equipment this year. People who couldn't find the right file would either continue looking for another 10 minutes instead of calling someone and asking for it to be sent over or would just play something random instead of what was meant to be played.
On that same idea, those operating the viewing rooms often seemed to just turn it on and leave. It would take a minute or so of attendees yelling 'Hey, it's broken!' for someone to get back and try to fix it.

Proper time didn't seem to be alloted for all showings. Project A-ko was 90 minutes long, but since it was in an 1 hour time slot, it got cut off before the end.

No more Midnight Madness? Why? Personally I was a bit disappointed with the send off. I would have rather it show most requested videos instead of just all the shorts.

Some things advertised were't actually shown either. Like Highschool of the Dead and K-On!. I wasn't able to find them at least.

As for what was decided to play, I had no complaints. Most of what I was interested in seemed to play at around 4am, but at least it was played.
Angry Videogame Nerd, Nostalgia Critic and Zero Punctuation were all entertaining and got great crowd reactions.
I enjoyed having Abridged Series playing on all days.

I didn't go into the video rooms until Monday (yay Azumanga and tech staffing) but I figure my opinion's as good as anyone's:

-Someone stole a Mac Mini from the hentai room along with a few DVDs late one (Sunday?) night. (A blonde, 30-ish female with a headset who looked important and may or may not have been staff. If anyone knows or has seen her please inform video programming or tech.) This may explain why programming dropped some anime from the schedule.

-Most of the rooms (especially Room 1) were FILTHY on Monday. Please clean up after yourself, especially if you leave a diet Coke bottle filled with a white, milky substance on the ground.

I believe two rooms got switched on what was playing. For example on Sat Video room 5 and I believe video room 4 got switched. I was waiting for bubblegum crisis in video rm 5 and an anime about squid girl was playing. So I looked at the schedule (which I printed out) and it was not there. So I went back outside and read the schedule its suppose to be kimagure orange road. And I looked into video room 4 and it was playing there.

When I went back outside to check the schedule video room 4 had a hand written sign that said nostalgia room, -__-;;;; but i believe they didn't switch the schedules on the two.

- i have to disgree with this last year we ran in to issues cause the files were 720p to 1080p and the equipment we had were unable to handle them. this year we went just 480p (this hurt me since i love hq files). as for broken files or not playing right it like that and were sorry about that. u have to understand the people who creat these files have to battle bootlaggers from stealing there subs and selling them back to public. we try our best to get them to play right that why when i said hey it not playing right we had a back up on a back up on top of a back up.
as for playing random stuff we do that when stuff ends early we call it filler. as for them looking for files for 10 min what time and day u talking about my friend. as far as i saw everyting was running on time except at night time when i have to get some sleep.

- they were always there unless there we were changing staff. if u know a time and date when staff wasnt there please let me know i would like to look in to this. but our staff was either next to the projector or out side the door making sure people were not standing in the door way.

-i was there for project ako and we showed the 2nd movie and as far as i saw it finished it was showen for 1hr 30min on sat 7:30 9pm it was right after vampire hunter d. maybe someone was showing it as filler.

-i to am very sadden that this was the last midnight madness i found out at con this was the last was his last showing.

I was very disappointed in the hentai room this year. My friends and I (and probably a lot of other people) go for the craziness in it which I didn't see a lot of. And I also go for the tentacle porn. I DID NOT SEE ONE TENTACLE. WHATS UP WITH THAT? I figured they just played that later on in the night but when I talked to the staff that was in charged with it they said there was none. How can you have hot hentai nights when there is no tentacle porn? :l

One specific encounter with playing something different was for the first showing of Scandal Makers. The operator tried searching for it, but wasn't spelling it right, so it didn't show up. After a while of doing that he said he couldn't find it and picked some other movie. I don't remember what was played in its place.

As for not finding the right file the worst wait was for City Hunter. He searched for a few minutes and it just wasn't there. After a while they were able to connect to some sort of central hard drive to find it and play it with no problems, it just took a while. The wait was about 10 minutes or so.

Also, Welcome to the Space Show was having difficulties playing, but it was also the first thing showing on Friday, so some issues were expected. It started 20 minutes late.

The best example of this I have was for the showing of AMV Hell 4 & 5. I think they tried playing 5 with Quicktime instead of VLC and there were horrible lag and pixelation issues. Finally it just stopped playing, but the music was still going. Maybe he was there, but not watching and thought our cries to fix it were laughter? When they noticed it stopped playing altogether it was fixed pretty quickly.

Well, it stopped at 9pm, but  it was cut off during one of the battles and the player timer at the bottom showed about 15 minutes left.

Understandable. I was just let down because they were printed in the guide.

Heavy Rain would be great to see. Star Craft was a cool showing too. If only Metal Gear Solid 4 wasn't so long, that would be a great showing.

I think the 2 hour segments worked well. Like I said, I really enjoyed having them play on all days. It was a nice anchor to work around.

I apologize for the Late Night Samurai Classics, since no one seemed interested in them.

Scandal Makers was a live action on Saturday. Cant remember what time, but I'll look it up.

Aside from small playback errors, I really enjoyed the video rooms.

Glitch

First I gotta say sunday night with the showings of Nostalgia Critic and AMV hell mini episodes were absolutely fun. The shouting and smart ass comments reminded of the comradely with people you only find at Fanime.

My only complaint is how extremely hot it was inside the rooms at this time. I think was after the amv hell minis were over that the air conditioner was finally turned on.

The main video room was pretty trashed too. Thank god nothing spilled there(from what I know). lol.

apology accepted. ^_^ i at least got to watch bubblegum crisis.

I find this weird are people allowed to talk in normal tones in the rooms?
Because I was really bugged by it, people behind be were talking and they weren't even whispering.
And they weren't even talking about the movie.
I would really like just to watch the show and enjoy it.
I didn't stop them , because I don't know if its allowed or not.
It happened more than once, like I could hear a bunch of people like 3 rows back. -___-;;;
