Hello!  My favorite part of Fanime 2012 was meeting so many wonderful artists in Artists Alley.  I walked away with 6 amazing pieces and I hope to support the artists this year (2013) with commissions!  Is there a place where artists post their sites and their locations in the alley?  It's never too early to start planning!!!

Unfortunately, there's no public list done by Fanime on who's going and who's not as far as AA's concerned. Your best bet would be to see if your favorite artists perhaps have a DeviantArt or a Tumblr. Announcements of the sort you're looking for usually get posted there individually. :)

hmm, OK - thank you for the reply!

Yeah normally nothing official but a lot of artists who have friends post unofficial "maps".
Maybe this yeah we should do a map here even if it's not official.

Just FYI, in the past artists have asked we not tell people where their table is for their privacy. We may figure out some way to screen those people out, but until then, no map!

I did see a number of maps on deviantart last year.  Rather than troll around deviant art searching for artists, I thought it would make more sense to have one centralized map.

I wonder why artists would not want their name on a map when they will be spending days sitting in a booth available to anyone who wanders by.

But not all artists have their real name public at their booth. Some people are very sensitive about their identity.

Yeah, I totally understand that.

Last year I ended up making my own map.  Artists who had posted their location on deviatart were each added to my map and it was fun stopping by and saying hello.  I also ended up with a fantastic stack of commissions...

I will probably do the same thing again this year.
