Just wanna make sure of a few things before Fanime rolls in:

1) When do lines for Dealers Hall start forming? When does it open?

2) Due to construction, how much of the con will be blocked off?

3) How much dirt is gonna be flying around outside?

1) I've never seen a line for the dealers hall personally, it just gets crowded inside cause its a big attraction.
2) I can't say for sure about whats blocked off but there's a thread for the construction discussion.
3) Dirt flying around sounds like a safety hazard so I don't see that happening. I didn't see that problem at all last year.

1) Lines form for almost everything at Fanime. For dealers room, usually an hour before, but theres always the hardcore ones who camp. I don't know the dealers room hours though.

2) I don't know for sure, but the old library area is for sure blocked off and the outside sidewalk from the cc to the Hilton is closed to pedestrians. Inside the CC, don't know.

3) I assume you mean dirt from the construction. I don't think there's gonna be dirt flying everywhere. It's Memorial Day weekend and I'm sure the construction guys should have those days off.

Never seen a line for the dealers hall, more like its just it gets bottled necked trying to get into the doors. But if you wait a few minutes it clears up and no lines or crowds, just a steady flow of people.
And no there is no one that camps out front of the dealers hall. Staffers keep entry and exit spaces free due to safety hazards.

As for construction part, the walk way in side where the new building has taken up some room inside. As mention before the area where registration was is gone.

No dirt has been flying anywhere, if you remember last year it wasn't that bad and it shouldn't be as bad for this year.
Not your typical anime junkie.

1) I have never seen a line form for the Dealer's Hall.  The exhibit hall they have that in is quite spacious, so it can hold a lot of bodies.  Only issue that can sometimes happen is there will be a large crowd trying to get in, and it might take a minute or two for all of them to get their badges checked for entrance.  But besides that, I've never seen any issues.

2) Other con-goers would be better suited to answer that question.

3) There shouldn't be any dirt flying anywhere.  There wasn't last year when construction began, and I would think that with it being Memorial Day weekend and all that the construction people have that time off.

Staff response....

1) A line for the dealers hall usually forms the first day that the dealers hall opens. Usually about 30-45 min before opening. Otherwise, no real big line. I would suggest waiting about 30 min after opening. You aren't missing anything as the Dealers usually stock plenty of stuff, but I understand how it can be exciting to explore the room.

2) There is no real good way to explain, but a large portion of the space that was last year is no longer as it was. Expect it to be crowded in some places and be asked to move along if you take photos in places where traffic is not meant to stop.

3) Not much dirt actually. Much of the foundation is laid and there is not a lot of exposed dirt. However, there is still lots of work going on with the structures, so expect exposed steel, but not much sparks as its a holiday weekend.
