Hi I'm Mat head of the new department Chibitainment. This year we will be holding a new event called the Fanime brush off painting competition. We will be using similar rules to the AdeptiCon crystal brush painting competition witch can be found here http://www.crystalbrush.com/2015-rules/. A quick description of this event: Participants will bring in painted models of the best quality of their skills in three categories. Small model (warhammer troop, dnd model, Single "human" sized figure, 28 to 40mm scale, on a base no larger than 50mm in diameter, with a total height of 75mm or less). Medium ( a squad or 1/144 gundam). Large (tank or 1/100-1/60 gundam.

Chibitainment.

What in gods name Chibitainment?

My guess would be that the department organizes smaller events. Ones that other departments would normally pass up not for lack of interest but because they are occupied running larger more complicated events.

Chibitainment, from what I remember being told about it, its like pop up events throughout the con. Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm not in charge of it, and ill make sure they clarify For us.

Chibitainment not my choice on a department name. Departments main function is to handle opening and closing ceremonies but i am given free reign to come up with a few smaller events. These events just require a bit more knowledge on the the part of the attendee to function. For example this event the attendee is to bring a model and submit it for jugging. Much how Masquerade competitors aim to showcase their skills in cosplay.

This also something I'm hopping to see more of submitted. This was done by my friend Anthony Gonzalez.

So I noticed it's basically a custom repaint art contest....Is kit-bashing/custom modifications (sawing off or adding additional limbs/parts) allowed?

If so, I might be interested in entering a W.I.P. (hopefully I'll be done by con time ^^;). My intention is to donate to our Charity Auction; a customized Kidrobot Frank Kozik Labbit modified & repainted as the Nekobus from Totoro. I was thinking about displaying it as part of your gallery (if you need items to display?) for Friday & moving it to the Charity booth on Saturday.

Here's a sample pic of what I'm working on:

Submission of models will take pace Friday 2pm - 8pm In the Extravaganzas office in the room of 211c near the video rooms. Saturday from 8am - 10am submission might continue down the hall when the room is converted for ninja games but judging will be that evening with the winners announced at speed painting at 12 on Sunday. Judges for this year will be my second (former gw employee), a friend (another former gw employee), one of my staff members, and myself. Going foreword i would like to use winners from this as guest judges. If availability is good an award ceremony will take place during closing ceremonies on Monday. Now legal is telling me i need to have entries sign a waver for loss/damage and to sign a waver you must be 18 with government Id or have a parent/guardian to sign.
