sasori is the one who made the puppets that kankuro uses. as for making his costume in this puppet form....i'm not too sure what you could use. maybe foam or cardboard? aa i can't really remember what he looks like too much...that'd be a hard costume.

Thanks for the info, a friend told me that one way I could create the illusion of him carrying the puppet under his akatsuki coat I could use a hiking backpack and stuff it a little

with sasori, there are a couple different ways to cosplay him.  you see about 4 different forms or so. he's got a lot of gadjets under his cloak

I don't think I'll go as far as to cosplay him in either of those forms I'll probably just use his regular form wearing the coat and hat along with the bandanna covering his nose and mouth.

Not leather. In all rationality, leather would probably be too noisy for a ninja to wear and still fight in, right?
But if you wore a cloth one similar to Kakashi's, then I don't see why not.

Indeed it would,  If a giant mask in that style could be found, then half of the work is already done leaving the tail.
