Funny Cosplay Stories, Anyone?

Anime conventions always leave room for plenty of hilarity. :lol: And that's putting it lightly. Cosplaying is a huge source of laughs, for plenty of reasons, whether you see an outrageous costume that just cracks you up or if you're the one in costume and something funny happens to you. Here's your chance to share some funny stories about your experience!

that's great! I wish I could have seen that. I'm cosplaying as Kakashi this year, which should be funny since people are probably going to think I'm a guy...crossplay is fun!

You guys will laugh, but I saw this nice looking Vash (Trigun) crossplayer chick....and so when I'm at the rave I ask this vash to dance thinking it's her...but it turns out to be a GUY!! :cry:  :cry:  :cry:

Haha. At the Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco, I saw a really good Cloud cosplayer, and commented on how cute he was. My friend stares at me and said "That's a girl."  :shock: I was so embarassed!

*Giggles* That's funny. Yeah I covered it up with some lie about wanting to dance with a Vash or something to save face. It was pretty bad though. It's sad that I convinced him to dance with me...but I got totally turned down flat by that female Ranma cosplayer....ugh. That STILL upsets me, ESPECIALLY since my damned psychotic friend Kyros was dancing with her later. @.@

Crossplay stories are always funny. Even though I've always crossplayed, the fact that I'm not a guy has been obvious until now. You really won't be able to tell with the clothes I'm wearing and most of my face covered.

I'll be all right as long as I don't get attacked by fangirls.  :lol: That would be scary...Though the look on their faces would be priceless when they learn the truth!

This wasn't a personal experience but a friend of mine went to a convention on the East coast as Toboe from Wolf's Rain. Someone came up behind them and hugged them around them thinking it was a guy, but my friend is a girl XD Let's just say she was in quite a bit of pain after the ferocious hug >.<

I was one of the Vash crossplayers around, and several things happened...
- Someone caught me talking to my friend about Lord of the Rings and I was imitating Legolas and they took a picture...  :lol:
- Someone asked me to dance while I was wandering around the main floor in the middle of the day...
- Someone also asked me for a picture and when I said "Sure" he said "Whoa! That sounds like a girl's voice!"  :?

Small hint:: THE FANGIRLS WON'T CARE! Most people who are classified as fangirls are usually crazy enough to the point where they don't care about gender just good cos/crossplay.

Although here's something I thought was kinda silly: the Kenshin who came with my group last year had pink hair! As in, pink hair that almost bright pink! After of which I told him that Kenshin's (from Rurouni Kenshin) hair is fire-red and not pink. *dies laughing*
