Fanime's Marketing Team is recruiting!

I am looking for people who are local to the Bay Area, 21 years of age or older, have some time to spare from now until Fanime, responsible and organized, and either experience in marketing, public relations, or promotions -OR- are willing to learn.

What you'll be working on:

-Working with companies for an event/promotion
-Promoting Fanime at events around the Bay Area
-Other projects

If you're interested, email me a cover letter and resume at [email protected], and we'll talk.

Hi!

I'm looking for reporter/writers for the FanimeCon 2007 Newsletter.  The staff member will attend events at Fanime and then submit articles about them.  At the moment, the plan is to print six newsletters during the convention: Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday evening, Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Monday morning, and the staff member should submit one article per edition.  Because we're working with such short times, the staff member also needs to give up very broad editorial control over the articles submitted:  the editor may need to fix errors, reword sections, and trim content before printing, and there is unlikely to be enough time to discuss such changes with you.

If you would like to apply, please send the following to [email protected]:
1) one paragraph describing any writing or reporting experience, and
2) one paragraph about your favorite parts of Fanime.

The paragraphs should be long enough to show off your writing ability and style, but they should be written within a reasonable amount of time.  If you can write them in a few minutes, that's great!  Spending more than half a day on one paragraph would qualify as a very unreasonably long time.  If your only writing experience is in English class, that's fine.  Just write something about it, and try to make it sound interesting.  If this will be your first Fanime, then browse through the main FanimeCon web site and write something about which events sound interesting to you and why.

Edit: New staff sign-ups close on May 1, and we need a few days to talk things out, so please submit applications by April 27!

If you have any questions, please e-mail [email protected].  Also, please feel free to pass this message to anybody you think may be  interested in applying.  Thank you!
