I need help in trying to tie my katana and wakizashi set to my waist and how to tie the belt for the soul reaper outfit properly.

Um. Okay. Let's see. The katana itself may be tied to the sash but it's also sliped through, so it doesn't just hang there like a saber would. The wakizashi is the same way, however you really don't need to tie the wakizashi to the sash, usually it's just the one i believe.

As for the sash. traditionally the sash is actually connected to the hakama pants, and in fact traditionally there is two parts. a strip on the front flap that ties around the back and then the one attached to the back flap that goes around to your front, then wraped back around to your back and brought to the front again, where you then preceed to tie it like you would your shoe, a bow. if you wanna be manily and no bow, just tie a knot and let the remaining hang down.( just remeber nto to tie it too tightly, it'd be a bummer to have to cut the thing off.)

Now if the sash is separate, just pretend it's the strip at the back. put it at the small of your back and do the whole wraping thing and tie the knot.

I am almost positive this is correct about the swords. the sash it most definately correct when it comes to tieing up hakama.
Please, don't feed the moogle.

Since you're doing an original character you have quite a bit of leeway on that one.

With my character his sword is tied to the obi, but not slipped through it like it would normally be so it is just hanging.

Here's how it is with my character:
