I attended the recent winter SacAnime with my friends. It was our first time there, and we all had a great time.

The area around the convention center is good, not as great as it is around San Jose's convention center (imo. also my first time at Fanime this year). There's a lot more to go to and wander around in Fanime's area.

I can recall 2 Japanese guests on the top of my head- Mai Aizawa and... uh, I don't remember, but it was a guy. I think there were 2 other Japanese guests. The other guests were (to my knowledge) American voice actors.

It was SacAnime's first time in the Sac convention center, but I still believe it could use more room. There were panels also being held at the Sheraton. Sheraton is closeby, so there is no hassle in walking. well, the street corners do get crowded when waiting to walk across the street; it's not as spacious as waiting near Fanime's area.

I recall reading something that they will be using the 2nd floor of the convention center this summer and maybe beyond (it was not used for SacAnime in the winter), and I think that will be better in terms of wandering around. I could kinda tell that a few of my friends thought it was repetitive walking from one end of the center to the other when they didn't know where to go (though I blame them for being bored, lol. There are panels and events going on for a reason).

Waiting time for our badges Friday morning was less than 5 minutes, but maybe that's to be expected because SacAnime is the smallest of the two. I don't know if Fanime's lines are as crazy as it was this year, as I don't have prior experience with Fanime's registration lines.

It's kinda hard to pick between the two, especially because it's my first time going to both this year. Though I love the English VAs, I liked how there were many different events going on (and viewing rooms open all night). I didn't stick around Saturday night to listen to the bands, but I enjoyed MusicFest this year.

*EDIT* figured I'd change this into a Hotel Review / Feedback thread, for those who will tell about their hotel experience to inform others about what hotel they may possibly stay at for the next year.

I stayed at the Hyatt for Friday and Saturday night w/ my brother and cousin.  checked in before 5. Our room was on the 9th floor, it faced the parking garage, and it had 2 double beds and a sofa. checked out Sunday at 12.

LIKED:
-the room. It was good enough for the 3 of us. had enough room for us to unpack our things around the room and put stuff in the closet.
-fridge for food :D
-location! very close to the convention center. come back late afternoon to take a nap and energize yourself for the night, like we did.
-staff was friendly
-couch was (surprisingly) very comfortable to sleep on
-complimentary toiletries. housekeeping restocked any that we had used.

DISLIKES:
-elevators. imo, they were pretty slow.
-can hear the neighbors next to us, depending on how loud they were- specifically Saturday night. though to be fair, we were really loud Friday night haha.

TIPS:
-if you don't want outside noise to disturb your sleep, request a room facing the parking garage- it's away from the light rail. to those who stayed at the Hyatt, I'm curious if anyone had problems sleeping.
(though honestly, we came back late both nights and knocked out pretty quickly)

*EDIT* the cost of the room was approximately $260. I would definitely stay here next year if I attend next year.

@Night_Miquiztli @djmonolith I have one picture each of Kakashi and Hidan.

anyone else can try to check out if they have a picture of themselves there. if you remember Mika Harima taking a picture of you, then you're probably there. I only took pictures on Saturday and 'til 12 on Sunday.

hey, I'm really sorry that I wasn't able to make it to the meet-up on Friday. I was in line getting my badge at the time. I still cosplayed as Mika Harima on Fri, Sat, and today though! hope the meetup went well  :)

I have met a predicament wih my Mika Harima wig: the bangs are longer than what I was expecting- and when I say long, I mean LONG. The back and sides of the wig are great, but the front is not. Anyone willing to cut and style the bangs for me, preferably someone with previous experience? I can't exactly go to a barber now or tmrw; I leave for Fanime afterschool.

anyone have advice for cosmetic contacts? my vision is 20/20 so I do not need prescribed colored contacts. I just worry if cosmetic contacts will be bad for me. I don't want to risk damaging my eyes just because of cosplay >.<

@PinkHairSasuke thankyou for the advice! forgive me for replying so late. I do not have a mannequin head but I think the stand I have will suffice for the con :) I just thought of carrying he stand and the wig to the con as a hassle, so I may try the ventilated shoebox trick.

my wig arrived with a wig stand, but I have no clue what to do. I want to try it on but I feel like I'll  mess it up if I open it and try it on now, and then when it comes time for the convention the wig might be messed up- but I'm just assuming that. do I have to leave it on the wig stand after I wear it once? tips on wig care in general?

my wig is for Mika Harima from Durarara!! btw

I will definitely be attending as Mika on Friday, given that my wig arrives on time.

I think we should do this during the day, at least while the sun is still out- sunset, maybe?

there is also the issue of where to do it and of people walking through, but I'm pretty sure getting people to join will not be a problem  ;)
#11
I'd love to participate in this as well  :)
#12
ahh wish I joined the forums earlier enough to see this ;~; I definitely would've gone to that, and I'd go to the next one if there is any
#13
I'm down! pretty sure the bunch I'm going w/ would be too :) any estimate of when will it be? might as well make it an official thing right?
#14
my brother will be there, cosplaying as an ANBU member this year!
#15
I like the idea of modifying a plain black t-shirt. might go with that and ask my teacher to help me w/ that; I'm a noob when it comes to that kinda stuff. thank you! :)
#16
hi! I plan on cosplaying as Touko :) I'm stuck on where to buy a vest :x any ideas?
#17
hello! I plan on cosplaying as Mika Harima :)

PS would this color tie be okay for her? http://www.target.com/p/merona-men-s-satin-neck-tie-assorted-colors/-/A-14292158
and would black schoolgirl loafers be okay for shoes, you think?

I strongly support the 2 posts above me ;) because I'd love to see some English VAs and abridgers there.
#19
I'd love to see a couple English voice actors!! Greg Ayres, Aaron Dismuke, Lucy Christian, and Ian Sinclair being a few possible guests, yes? :D
Little Kuriboh would add to the awesomeness as well!
