I find it delicious that the OP hasn't posted a response for a few days now.

Quote from: "madmanlotar"I loved musicfest!  My friend and were almost expelled from the concert during the Uphold performance for knocking down a crowd of people during a mosh.  I am looking forward to next year's concert.

That was you guys?!  Gah, I saw that coming out of the corner of my eye and I immediately thought "Oh SHI-!"

You guys knocked down a good portion of the front row of girls...

Quote from: "Leishu"I agree completely with E-chan on all counts in this case. Showing 'Lolicon' items, which are a form of Hentai which is often not legal to show in public places because it involves sex with underage individuals, has really no place at Fanime.

On a non-serious note, it is amusing to see some warnings on hentai movie and game sported over to the US that say "The characters depicted are all 18 and older"...

... Not that I buy that kind of stuff.

Yeah, I spent most of my time during MusicFest up at the front, watching the crowds.  Mothercoat though... whoa.  That singer is off his friggin rocker, and it was fun/annoying to chase him around Civic.  >_<

Was it just me, or did last year's dealer's room seem a bit lackluster?

To me, last year's dealer's room didn't seem to have anything that jumped out and screamed "BUY ME DAMN YOU!".  I got that same feeling too the year before that, and I don't know why.  I had the money, but nothing seemed worth buying.

I suppose I didn't want to spend my money on something I didn't need or terribly want... that damn "Need or Want" rule sort of reasoned out any halfassed purchases I was thinking of making.

Or perhaps the selection of the dealers themseleves were too generic.  It seemed like everybody had almost the exact same stuff, at close to the exact price, and nobody had any rare lewt that was worth... er, rather reasonable at the price it was being offered at.

Or perhaps, and I certainly don't want this to be the case, I'm getting old?  I may be 20, but I'm not the spry energetic otaku I used to be... hell, I don't even like the term otaku anymore, because I feel like I've grown out of that phase.  I still like anime, but not to the point where I get fanatic or lose logical thought like some of my other anime brethren.

... I dunno.  Watching Naruto during the tail end of the Chuunin Exam arc is making me nostalgic.

If I can find a copy of Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 for th Gamecube for cheaper than 60 bucks, then I'll be happy.  YesAsia's got it for 61 bucks, but hey, I'm waiting for the cheaper price.  :P  To be honest, without a job, looking around the dealer's room is like sniffing the food in a restaurant without ordering anything.  Nice, but I can't taste the goodness, and being a poor college student doesn't help either.  Once I graduate though, things'll change.  ;D

Quote from: "PogiChoie"A buzzer can easily be replaced by a bike horn or some other sort of noise thing.

Laptop + Winamp + buzzer.wav + speaker system = win.

Horn = Comedic Genius.  =P

A buzzer can easily be replaced by a bike horn or some other sort of noise thing.  Lines suggested by the audience can be written and collected during one of the games by a crew members before you need the lines, that way they can be run on the fly.  I also agree with Chun that you could try to do is to research some other improv exercises besides the ones showcased on the show.  IMO, you can only go so far with some games...   Plus, it doesn't HAVE to be JUST one day... daily shows can perk interest as well.

Like I said, if you need any help running it or need someone to pitch ideas back and forth with, drop me a line @ [email protected]

General Anime Chat / A-kon Bans Signs
June 04, 2005, 11:57:55 PM
Quote from: "lyricaldanichan"I asked this question on the fanime thread on somethingawfuldotcom:

I kinda wonder if anybody else seen these signs at f-anime? I took pictures but since it was from my cel phone it looked like shite.

sign 1: "I need a pity fuck!"
sign 2: "Naruto sucks and so do you."
sign 3: "Want your screen name or phone number, don't care if you are straight or gay."
sign 4: "We want your pennies!"
sign 5: "That hot chick you like... THAT'S A GUY!!"
sign 6: "Wearing a headband with a metal plate does not make you ninja!"
sign 7: "We learned early that ninjas with bright clothing DIED!!!"

I didn't want to ask what the story was with sign 1 and 3. At least Sign 1 got to the point (and failed?).

Whoa, holy crap, those last three were mine, I think.  Made those up on on Sunday/Monday, and wrote them on my white board which I prepared expressly for signage purposes.  Thankfully, I strayed from the whole "Will ___ for ____" crap and went straight to spreading the TRUTH...   :D

You guys SUCK.

...

I mean that NOT in the way of insulting your acting skills, but the fact that it was held Monday AFTERNOON when I was working to break down and pack up the tech stuff for Fanime.  I've attended and participated in this panel's ancestor, "Anime Improv" for the past two years and when I walked by and saw the sign, I cried inside.  I was tempted to ditch the equipment and join the fun, but meh...  ._.;  If you heard someone scream "AH, FUCK!!!" really loud during the show, that was me.  ;-;

If you need help running this panel at ALL, I'm more than ready to help out and do my thing, both as an actor as an anime fan.

General Anime Chat / Opinions of Fansubbed Anime!
June 16, 2004, 06:28:37 PM
Unfortunately, being the poor college student that I am, I cannot afford to go out and purchase new anime to view for myself.  Fortunately, that's what DSL is for...   :D

Ever since FMA got licensed, I've been surviving on a scant diet of Naruto, and I'm trying to see what else will catch my attention.  Currently, I've been watching Naruto, Initial D 4th Stage, Tenjou Tenge, and Gantz to name a few, but I need MORE.  *twitch*

Koi Kaze and Ragnarok doesn't really appeal to me.  Aishiteruze Baby is alright, but it's not too... "addicting", if you will.

Currently amused w/Yumeria.  I like Yumeria, but the intro is funny.  xD  Any more advice?
