I know, we should have gotten our act together and posted about this sooner. A few of us over on the Meetings, Gatherings, and Get Togethers part of the forum have been tossing around the idea of having a random pirates/ninja gathering and finally decided that it is happening.

This is for all pirates and ninjas (anime related or not). So if you have a awesome cosplay from One Piece or Naruto, decided to bring your Pirates of the Carribean costume or just happen to have random pirate or ninja outfits lying around-now is the time to wear them.

When: Sunday @ 3pm
Where: Meeting right inside the main enterance to the Convention Center (near the fountains)

So who wants to join us?

Ok, so as of right now this is just a suggestion and please shoot it down if you think it's dumb/too dangerous. Would anyone be interested in meeting outside by the fountains for a giant game of Red Rover? All cosplayers (and probably noncosplayers as well) would be welcome to join in. Obviously we wouldn't all know each others names but we could refer to each other by character name or clothing description.

You never played Red Rover as a kid and have no clue what I'm talking about:
Players on a team hold hands, forming a line. The leader of a team will call a player from the opposing team. That player must try and break through two players' hands (a link) to stay on their own team. If the player is not able to break through the link, that team will gain control of that player. Before a player would try to break the link, the link would normally say "Red Rover, Red Rover, we call (player's name) over!" Typically, the weaker players are chosen first to increase the chance of taking them.
When only one player is left on a team, they must try and break through a link. If they do not succeed, the opposing team wins. Otherwise, they are able to get a player back for their team.

Panels and Workshops / Gothic Lolita Panel
April 15, 2007, 06:51:17 PM
We're in need of more volunteers to help out with a gothic lolita panel. kagayuzen on livejournal is organizing it:

"I figure that it can be divided into two parts: a panel with lecture on the fashion and then a fashion show. So that means we'll need some volunteers for both. Since it's already mid-April we have to start organizing stat! I need a few people who will help me organize (5 or so people would be fine) and give the "lecture" part of the panel. Then we need a few people to be in the fashion portion of the panel."

Anyone that is interested in helping should leave their contact info on this post: http://community.livejournal.com/ca_egl/43680.html

Things in the Universe / livejournal users?
February 27, 2004, 11:01:12 AM
I already have a few of you on my livejournal firends list but I just wanted to know who else has a livejournal. So if you want more fanime buddies on your friends list then let us know your lj name. I know a list (of people's lj names) went around at the last gathering. Perhaps the person that now has that list could post the info from it? By the way mine is felicity869 (bet you never would ahve guess that)

Things in the Universe / penny-arcade.com

Anyone like www.penny-arcade.com? I just discoved it and thought it was hillarious. http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2003-04-07 <-That's the best :)

I was thinking about making a Gabe costume but I don't think it would be right for fanime so maybe I'll just wait until the San Diego Comic Con to wear it.
