Quote from: Marin Jei ElSo looking back on previous years here are the number of entries we get (on average) for each category:

ACTION: 25
DRAMA:  35
COMEDY: 9
EXPERIMENTAL: 7

Quote from: Marin Jei ElWe have processed a total of 52 entries this year:
Action: 21
Comedy: 08
Drama: 16
Experimental: 5

Exhibition: 2

Finally read through the whole thread. 76 vs 50 for competition is a bit of a drop but not too bad! The drop in Drama entries is the biggest surprise. The rest stayed about the same. It's not just Fanime that is having the decline in entries though: From what I've been seeing, this year seems to be much slower for AMVs than it's been in previous years for more than a few cons. I'm sure the A-M-V.org glitch didn't help though (I even almost forgot about the deadline). I've seen some people say that they would be saving their submission for Otakon this year or already submitted and maybe that's another contributing big factor (If they were to win an award here, they'd be disqualified from the Otakon contest). But like Marin Jei El said, AMV coordinators notice entry numbers fluctuating some from year to year. Who knows? Next year might have the largest number of entries ever submitted. :)

Sorry your entry didn't make it in, raltga. Better luck next year. Keep trying!

I like the idea on posting the highly requested info on both the sign and audience ballots for people to refer to. I hope the contest runs smoothly with little problems as possible. We editors and AMV fans appreciate your hard work. :) Really wish I could be there.

This idea is awesome! I've imagined doing something like this after viewing some similar ones before. I think this one here was one of the first I saw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQKbolMVLwk

Best of luck with this! I am not attending Fanime this year, but I hope you get enough people to participate and I hope you'll post a link when you finish it. :) It's hard work to gather all those clips of people lipsyncing and doing things you need, but the results are well worth it. ^_^ I'll be anticipating this. Good luck and have fun with it!

I'm a little late in posting this, but when I got my two e-mails I nearly cried with joy! :') I'm especially excited that my Drama/Romance entry is going to be aired at the con. A BIG thank you to the judges for selecting my videos. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to compete at Fanime again. Also, congrats to all the other finalists!

Since Fanime is so far away from where I live I am unable to attend the convention and be at the AMV contest at this point, but it's high up on my list of conventions I want to attend in the future. I hope you all have a fun time. ^_^ Wish I could be there and also see the contest.
