The other thread where people were discussing Igaguri Chiba was locked for going off topic so I wanted to start another one.

Please keep this thread about Igaguri Chiba and Sendai Kamotsu.

Oh and Nightmare as well since according to wiki (while not an authoritative source) Sendai Kamotsu is just the members of Nightmare! ;D

So does Chiba really equal Yomi?

General Anime Chat / Anyone watching 07-Ghost?
July 25, 2009, 01:26:39 PM
Being sick yesterday meant I was lying around the house and decided to watch the first episode of 07-Ghost. That lead to some quick bittorenting and I then proceeded to watch it up to the current episode 16. I like the dark under tones and with just a little humor thrown in.  Anyone else?

Things in the Universe / Angels and Demons
May 16, 2009, 03:51:28 PM
Anyone see Angels and Demons this weekend or planning to see it?

I just got back from it and found it to be a good movie. It is lighter on the whole puzzle solving business but cranks up the tension and action quite a bit more than Davinci Code.

EDITED:
I have posted the answers in a separate post in case you want to guess first.

Here's how it works. Below are links to 10 different anime opening theme songs. You job is to figure out what show, the name of the song, and who preformed it.

The theme for this contest is OLD SKOOL. A couple of these are relatively new, but everything on this list is older than 2000. The majority are from the 80's, with a number of them from the 70's and the rest from the 90's. Some of these are REAL easy. Some... not so much! Good luck!

Things in the Universe / "Smoke gets in your eyes"
June 27, 2008, 04:28:07 PM
How's your air quality? Mine sucks. Check out down town Ukiah:

And we are in for weeks of it at this rate.
I am thinking of heading somewhere, anywhere, this weekend to get out of this smoke. Any suggestions?

I am a long time player and DM (since the 70's) and me and my crew just picked up the 4th edition rules and are trying them out this week. Anyone else play and making the switch?

Feel free to talk about anything D&D related. ;D

I made this in several different ways. First, I designed the poster. This is just the postcard image. The ticket info and times will be on the back.

Second, I am directing this show. So I am really excited about it. We start full time rehearsals in 2 weeks.

I'll also design the lights for the show and the set. Thankfully I am not acting in it as well. I prefer not to act and direct at the same time (though I have done it before).

I have a really eclectic mix of anime figurines. But I thought I would start off with my most recent acquisition:

For those who don't recognize her its Kasikabe Saki from Geshiken cosplaying from Kujibiki Unbalance (the anime within the anime).

I am expecting Ohno cosplaying as Kuradoberi Jam in the next few days. ;D

Is anyone going to AOD (Now called Anime on Display) this February 16th and 17th in San Francisco?
http://www.aodsf.org/

I am thinking about it, because it close by and that weekend happens to be my birthday.

Also who has gone to this before? I know it almost got skipped last year and ended up with only one day late in the year.

A Seussical !!?!?! *googles it*

Hey thats pretty awesome for the holidays.

Hey Mordyan, despite being about 3+ hours away please start a thread and maybe we'll make a separate gathering for it!

I'm sorting on this new 'fix' for theatre and stuff (yes I used to be a Thespian myself ^_^ ) so if you dont mind random fani-mafia members going to your show that sounds like a great idea.

I am opening up the idea for a northern adventure. I am acting in the musical Seussical (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seussical) from November 16th through Dec 8th. The performances are Thursdays 7:00 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $15 (thurs/sun) an $18 (fri/sat) with discounts for students.

This is a community theater production but I feel it will be a good one. I am playing a Who and also General Ghengis Khan Schmitz and get to sing and dance my way through a bit of the show.

Depending on what day we can also grab a bite to eat. Also my place would be available for random entertainment, including Wii, Anime, board games (Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Arkham (a Cthulu board game), Munchkin, Ninja Burger, etc.), or just hanging out. I have limited floor space but if anyone want to "rough" it they are also welcome to stay.

I know its a long trip but let me know if anyone is interested and we can pick a date.

General Convention Discussion / LIVE from Fanime!
May 24, 2007, 02:33:18 PM
I just got checked in to my room at the Marriott, and I am using their TV internet (since I don't have a laptap). Just thought I would give a shout out to everyone and create a place for people to post while they are at the con.

I am about to head downstairs and check out the place and see how the pre-reg pikup line is doin. Then see if I can spot any forum members lurking about.

Have Fun everyone and see ya at the con!

Finally what I have been waiting for so I can start buying the series:

Naruto Uncut DVD Box Set 1

I like the fact that there are 13 episodes in the set. Don't have to buy three discs that way.

I just just checked amazon.com and they have it even cheaper at    $36.99!!![/url]

Registration / Thursday night badge pick-up
April 02, 2006, 06:43:39 PM
Are you guys doing the early badge pick-up on thursday again? I looked on the website but didn't see any info about it.

On a similar note, are there going to be any Thursday night event(s) for the pre-reg crowd like last year?

General Anime Chat / Bleach licensed...
March 16, 2006, 12:23:27 AM
It was bound to happen popular as it was. Here is the ANN article:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=8560

Viz has the rights. Not sure how they will do with this. If it's being pushed on Cartoon Network it could go either way. ugh....

Oh well, I had manage to get to episode 71.... thank god they had finished the previous story arc or I would have been pissed.

General Anime Chat / What's your first Anime?
April 28, 2004, 03:57:04 PM
We have "what's you favorite anime?" topic. I was wondering what was the first anime you ever saw?

Also, a similar thread,  what is the anime that turned you into a full blooded otaku?

The first anime I ever watched when I was a young kid was Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman). Robotech was what got my hooked on anime though.
