I feel like I'm repeating myself for the umpteenth time, but I'd like to request Perfume. I'll probably request them every year until they actually attend. They give such amazing live performances that I think even non-anime fans would enjoy.

The last meeting ended around 3pm by the last interview and we even started a bit late, so it really should not take longer than 3,4 hours at the very most. We appreciate all of your patience and hope to see you tomorrow morning @ 11am. :)

One day some other anime con will start doing this idea and it will sell out like hotcaeks.
I'll be pointing to this thread with this GIF.

Ya'll be trippin'. You don't need to organize a rap battle cos ya do it IN DA STREETZ.
Just call someone out in the hallways and spit one.

Dealers Room / Re: Sell (LED?) Glow Sticks at Fanime!
January 11, 2010, 06:56:00 PM
I'd like to push for this idea again. If not for 2010, then for any Fanime after that.
I'm willing to bet these could outsell Fanime t-shirts.

Hot as hell working at cafe again, but overall it was alright. Definitely had a lot of attention this year. Also, idle conversation in Children's video screening room near closing time was amusing. Highlight of the day was seeing loli jailbait joining us maids coloring and recognizing Haruhi & K-ON references. I was impressed, yet worried about her future. ww

PS: K-noms--Quality children's programming.

If it's possible I'd like to have Perfume...

they're pretty cool.

HEY, I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK.

Here's another 9999999999999999999999 votes for Chihara Minori, and twice the amount for Perfume. :'D

Dealers Room / Sell (LED?) Glow Sticks at Fanime!
September 21, 2009, 04:06:12 AM
I brought up this idea to a good number of my friends that go to Fanime, and they TOTALLY would buy some in a heartbeat. Just about every major event at FanimeCon's experience could be enhanced through glow sticks!

Think about it--Masquerade/MusicFest audiences, raves, random midnight mayhem? Not to mention many vendors sell these wholesale in bulk and can be customized, so FanimeCon's logo could go right on them; another form of convention souvenirs!

I also highly recommend going for LED glow sticks instead of the cheap liquid ones you have to break. For one, LED lights last longer, which are a big plus if you're going to MusicFest to cheer on the special bands/idols on stage.

It would also be really convenient to con-goers, so they don't have to depend on other people to buy glow sticks beforehand, or have to run out to the nearest party store to get the breakable kinds.

Don't we have more than enough major events going on in Fanime already? We'd need at least another full day for it, which will probably affect staffing, not to mention badge pricing, greatly.

There are a lot of kickass rock festivals that happen in summer. There is Summer Comiket, but that's in mid-August. Most of the good stuff happen in August, really.

I hope you guys have asstons of money. Japan ain't the cheapest place, especially with the exchange rate these days (last time I checked it was 1 USD to 95 yen). Hotels are expensive, food is expensive. I wouldn't really go longer than 2 weeks.

Bring Perfume. They totally fit the questions you asked.

1. They are REALLY into call backs and stuff during their concerts. One of the most fun parts of their lives seems to be the fan interaction.

2. They have had a lot of early exposure on the ANIMAX channel, and did collab with Momoi previously afterall. Nocchi is a big manga otaku and the "cutesy & girly" Kashiyuka likes JoJo's Bizzare Adventure. What's not to like?

3. The beauty of their music is that it's techno-pop. Both techno audiophiles, and pop fans, love their music. That being said, they're one of the most popular names in Japanese music today. Their taste is infective. Many of the members of a Perfume forum I frequent are also anime fans, but there are plenty of non-anime fans as well.

On the offhand, they are SO much better than Morning Musume. They re-define the label of "idols".

Some cents I'd like to add, since voice actors are now involved wwww:

- VA WORK IS NOT GLAMOROUS. AT ALL. PERIOD. Heck, neither is being an idol. The ONLY thing is Hollywood. Some of the top seiyuu idols in the business today still blog from their apartment or their parent's house. I guess just because people appear on TV & magazines and release albums/DVDs means they're living the sweet life or sumshit? HAHAHAHA. Derp.

- "Make better dubs"? I'd like to hear your definition of what's considered "good" or "bad". Do you have any acting experience? Anti-localization BS is just something a weeaboo purist would believe in. Hey, if anime is only subtitled, maybe we should just not localize anything altogether! Pokemon games? Screw English, Japanese text all over the packaging! Maybe even typeset english over it like scanlations. wwwwwwww

Anyway, if anime fans STOP BEING HUGE PIRATES and support the industry by purchasing DVDs, subscribing to anime channels (online or on cable), and buying legal, legit media, THEN they can afford to hire "better" VA's to do the work. Most of the North American VA's that dub anime are 3rd-rate actors living check by check. Ever heard the winners from the Voicey awards? A LOT better than what you hear in your straight-to-DVD anime release voice-overs. (There are a lot of Candians too. Go figure.)

I don't really watch anime these days since I probably won't buy them in the end. Simple as that. (And those that I enjoyed, I have happily purchased with money I saved up.)

- Listening comes before reading for human development. So does that mean my 5-year old cousin should not be able to watch Pokemon and should be forced to read subtitles that appear way faster than normal reading speed at their age? The companies' target audience would not even enjoy watching the show because there's too much damn text to read!

If you love anime in it's "purest form" so much, just buy the R2 dvds. Only 2 eps per $60 DVD or so, but hey, that's what Japanese fans have to do.

O hay, about the thread. I want Yotsuba& to be animooted first, and then brought to the states. :'D

Isn't this kind of thing inevitable during peak times of operation? Elevators being crowded and what have you. But I do agree that people need more manners, but that's just people in general, not limiting to FanimeCon-goers. wwwww

Well, I like Momoi but, y'know, I'm not as crazy over her as some people here and I'd like to continue to see variety in the Japanese guests available next year. I think Momoi should definitely come back, but maybe two years from now or something? Or she could come back next year if she brings a friend in the business. ;)

I'm working on it... wwwwwwwwww

Or friends from past projects, AMIRITE?
