Great! Go ahead and email us at [email protected] with your name and intended cosplay and we'll put you on the list! We do ask that you decide on a cosplay within the week so that we can be properly prepared.

We will be over by 6 at the latest, but if you need to leave earlier we can "kill you off" in the beginning so you won't miss the Masquerade. Just be sure to email us and we'll add you to the list! :D And its a lot of fun, we had a blast doing it last year and want to keep it going.

Hello everyone!!

I want to give a HUGE thank you to all of you who made cosplay chess possible this year. The first step is always the hardest, and without all of your efforts and collaboration none of this would have been possible. I know there were some huge hurdles and obstacles on the day of the performance, but we somehow managed to pull through and give a spectacular performance. There is still lots to improve on, but the overall feedback I've gotten is positive.

So! With that said, we are definitely moving forward with this, and looking to bring it back even better next year. I hope to start recruiting in October.

Thanks again, and look forward to another great year at Anime Cosplay Chess!

Even though we have three spots left, I will still accept people who wish to sign up. These extras will be either back ups or (if available) have extra roles outside of the chessboard, such as assisting another piece in battle.

The fight scenes will be improvised on the weekend of Fanime (when everyone is together) as I will be determining the script and pieces in a few weeks. For sure you will have time to talk to other pieces you will be fighting against. Since I don't have all of my pieces right now matching characters is difficult.

As a general rule, I am asking fights to be within 30-60 seconds, as we only have two hours to perform. As for how they wish to fight is entirely up to them, so long as it doesn't take too long or require assistance they can't provide themselves.

As for who dies first and how long you will be on the board is entirely up in the air. I will be randomly assigning characters to pieces once I have the chess match determined. If you feel strongly about being on the board for a short or long period of time, please let me know via email and I will see what I can do.
