Might be old, but I need to chime in to express my great liking of the Fanime boxers.

Gaming / ITG2 Cab Song Requests/Recommendations
March 08, 2011, 05:54:08 PM
Hey so I went through some old threads, and thought it might actually be nice to figure out what gets played the most on ITG at the con.  I don't really follow it, and the last few years I really haven't been playing there for various reasons (stupid glare!!!).  What have you guys noticed gets played the most, and what kind of stuff gets ignored?  I have my own build of ITG2, and I'm thinking about trying to do something that will satisfy everybody a lot better.  I also think I remember there was no thumb drive/custom song support last time, that won't happen again.

Suggestions, please?  I really want to turn this one around, make it great :3

Hmmmm, well I don't have my cabinet anymore, but we have a board.  I'll definitely put it up with a list of requests to look at :3

Hahahahaha, that's a given.  There'll probably be 4 setups again this year.

I'll bring Raiden Fighters/Jet, or at least Aces, an we can set it up somewhere.  They don't usually bring a lot of shmups or anything, though I was stoked to see Mushihimesama there last year <3

I can comfortably say, realistically, won't happen.  It's not just not released here, but DLC only ):

I will however be bringing my personal Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, ITG2 (+USB thumb drive support), DDR Extreme, and a newer Pop'n PCB for the con.  If not a machine, I'll also bring back my IIDX controller going back to stock turntable parts, official PCB NOT under the 2p TT overheating all the time, and a legit I/O.  Major disasters aside, that should help alleviate some of the call for updated games ^^

Gaming / Fanime 2011 Arcade Suggestions Thread

Arcade discussions go here, for eGaming suggestions, please go to this thread!

What do you guys want to see this year?  As before, there will not be an official list until On-campus releases it to us, but please, speculate and suggest away!  I'll try to fulfill whatever requests you have, and bring anything that doesn't show up myself.  We'd like this year to be above and beyond, and your ideas will help us do that!

I'll be doing Evatrice this year for sure :)

I wasn't sure if I should branch off my own thread yet, I'll probably do that soon.  Like previous years, we haven't had anything beyond a tentative list until very close to con, because the games come from several different locations.  Right now I can't confirm anything or who will be there, but I will say that I will have my own ITG2 boxor, DDR Extreme, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, possibly a newer Pop'n upgrade, and some stuff like TGM3 and shmups to bring with me.  Whether I can work something out for them to be used is another story, but I'm very hopeful.

This means we could potentially run Extreme or ITG for the DDR tournament with a supergun, even if we can't use their cabs.

If there was honestly enough interest, I would bring my cab just for the tournament but that's kinda overkill ._.

I've got an Actress Again setup myself, I'll talk to arcade about getting that.  I think there's a SSFIV update for console by the time Fanime rolls around, I'm sure for a tournament setting we'll figure that out as well.

1) If yer the same kaizoku I know, you shoulda gotten a hold of me ):
2) We tossed around with the idea of some kind of main screen after con, if anything like that is at all possible, you'll see it next year.  I know myself and the arcade wouldn't mind something like that, just no idea the logistics of setting it up yet.

I just have to throw in my opinion on the prop rules as well; some of the best costumes I've ever seen are supported by great props.  Some regulation is acceptible, but I agree sometimes it's just going too far.  Things like the sign rule are designed to prevent certain messages, not ruin someone's hard work designed to genuinely portray a character.  Last year my staff was almost not allowed because it broke into two pieces for ease of transport.  Rather than complain about the current interpretation of the rules, I believe that these should be lightened up first.  After that, perhaps there should be a more equal decision on props between people doing peace bonding; if something is questionable, you should be able to get a second opinion.  I totally agree there should have been no problem whatsoever with that sign; even if someone understands it, it's not like anybody is going to ask you for what's on the sign.

That dual-gun duck hunt tournament is sooooo on.  I might not be eGaming next year either, but I'll help you make sure there's a great speedrun tournament set up, and maybe a second one that's a combination of 5 or so games :3

I'm thinking what we might do is instead of making sure only to have tournament games on-site that we'll make a second list.  It'd have all the games that should be running 24/7 on one side, and every single personal request from the forums on another, that way we make sure those random classics that people want to play are there.  I think with more TVs we can manage that, so we don't have to take down yet another station for Brawl or some crap.

On my friend's behalf, it was not cool seeing his Super C run end on loop 4 because someone wanted to take the TV for a tournament ):

Gaming Hall: At 2AM in the morning, when most people are sleeping or partying in their rooms and there isn't much traffic flows, those entrance/exits that are supposed to help the congoers become more of a hindrance.  You could probably just open both doors, and have the staff sit in the center but a little inside the room and have people enter/exit from their right like standard traffic flow.  They only need to check the badges of the people from the side entering then, but still allows people to enter or exit from both sides to go back to their respective hotels.
We kinda talked about this a bit after con.  Late hours we were probably going to do this next year anyway.  It's a great suggestion, and we feel your pain ):

Quote from: Mantaray3000 on May 31, 2010, 04:04:51 PMDealers: What ever happened to the booth that sells anime soundtracks? Wasn't there more booths last year especially industry like funimation and bandai?
Fanime is by fans, for fans.  I'm pretty sure we're avoiding industry booths as a whole, somebody correct me if I'm wrong ^^;

On a side note, there are four gaming departments in the Game Room: Arcade, Tabletop, Social (Cosplay Chess, etc.), and eGaming (PC/Console).  We are separate entities working together, so sometimes we're a bit disorganized, gonna change that this year :3

): lol, I don't have any games anymore, just one or two.  It wasn't anything worth bringing a supergun for, sadly.

EDIT: I just heard from a friend that apparently there were a few guys on staff running SSFIV on console, and not letting anybody else play.  If anybody saw this and can provide information, I'd like to know.  I'm looking into it myself, but that's just not acceptable if someone on one of our depts doesn't follow our own rules.

Thanks for comin' out guys!  I had a blast.  I'm happy to hear your feedback, both good and bad, and suggestions.  Looking forward to seeing you guys next year :3
#38
): aww you guys ran too short, Lucario couldn't join..

I'm getting bored at the booth atm, I'm gonna go check out the high score table see if I can take over Original by the time con's over

EDIT: Screw that, top score is a no-miss clear.  I've only done that twice, ain't happenin' out-of-practice lol

So uh guys

they brought us Mushihimesama :D

Probably the best choice now, 'cause the console port sucked balls anyway.  Finally something I can really showboat on <3
