Yeah, but then most of the other gatherings are aiming for Saturday as well. I know there's one gathering in particular I'm dead set on attending, and if it ends up on Saturday, I won't be able to make the Avatar gathering at all.

That's fine, we will all decide on a day later. But I cant guarantee it'll be changed for one person because they have a gathering they have to be at over another. ;/ I'd prefer Saturday xP others seem to agree, but all in good time ;> I'll try to work with everyone's schedule.

No, no, I understand. But literally every series I'm cosplaying for is aiming for Saturday to be the day of the gathering. Hitman Reborn, Soul Eater, One Piece, and then this one. It'd be a bit disheartening to be unable to attend just about all of the gatherings due to this freakish scheduling conflict. But then again, from the way the votes are going, I seem to be the only one experiencing this problem. lol.

Okay. I was thinking about making the dinner for 6.30, meaning eating won't really get underway until 7...so then photos beforehand at 5...then if anyone wants to linger after dinner for some indoor shots somewhere, that can be up to them. That should work out.

But then where to meet to take pictures...

true, that would probably work, I'm getting there really early friday morning because my roommate is in the maidcafe this year and they have stuff to do at that time.

Not to be confused with the actual OP gathering thread, the purpose of the dinner is to get to dress up on the afternoon/evening of day 0, eat, take some hilarious pictures, and get to know your fellow OP cosplayers in a laid-back setting before the con starts.

This OP day 0 dinner/photoshoot was started at Otakon by Ichigogami and was a ton of fun, so I decided to drag it along to whatever west coast con I happen to be attending.

How this will work is we will meet up at a designated location for anyone who wants to take pictures. It's a good way to get smaller group shots seeing as how the official gatherings tend to be huge. We then head over to a designated restaurant later on to eat. That's usually where the majority of people show up and its a great opportunity to goof off as whomever you're cosplaying as while getting fun crack shots (example of fun crack shots can be found here).

Past experiences promise this is a fun idea.

Dinner Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Dinner Location: Johnny Rockets
Photoshoot Location: Convention entrance by the fountains
Photoshoot Time: 5.30-6.30pm
