Quick check here, If there is a self-publishing panel what kind of people would folks want to hear from?  I can line up game and novel/book publishers mostly.

As an addition, an Indie Author group I'm part of is looking at doing touring panels, so I might convince them to do fanime (though only part of us are anime fans).  Could get a lot of self-publishing advice out of them.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Suggestion: Social Room

I thought that was only for Cosplayers.  Is it also a general social space for anyone?  I may ahve been mistaken.

I've fallen off of the D. Gray Man train awhile ago, but considering the new series this is probably pretty viable.

Thanks.  So how do you think we can best advocate for the panel?  Because we'd love to do it (in fact, my whole crew usually goes to Fanime).

Ideas and Suggestions / Suggestion: Social Room
October 16, 2016, 08:21:55 PM
Was talking with friends I've attended many a con with over the years, and we noted that it was great to have the Cosplay "relax" space (especially when you're dressed as 3 Steven Universe characters).  In fact, we had an absolute blast cooling off and meeting people.

I was thinking that it may be nice to have a quiet "social space" in general.  A room, off the beaten path, with tables and chairs and a general "keep it down" policy of noise, something like con suites but larger.  It'd be a good place to go, socialize, and do so in a peaceful environment.

Well I plan to submit it when they open the forum submissions, so any support is appreciated!  Anything you'd like to see?

I'd be curious what other Sailor Moon panels you'd like to see?

I and my co-author recently did a book on how Sailor Moon impacted women in North America (the results surprised us).  We'd definitely like to do a panel on that if people are interested in something more study-like.

You wouldn't happen to be referring to Her Eternal Moonlight, would you? I recently read an article about the book on Ganriki.org and would love to hear more about the topic. :)

Actually, yeah, that's the one!  We've got a lot to share, so I'd like to do a panel (also this is one time I know my co-author and I will be at the same con).

Panels and Workshops / 2017 Panel ideas

I wanted to make a few panel suggestions.

A self-publishing nitty-gritty panel.  How people do the work of document setup, conversion, covers, and more.  Something that ties the whole thing together so people can see how they go from idea to finished product.  I self-publish and I'm sure I'm not a lone.

A panel for 30 and older anime fans.  Hey, we're out there ;)

World building - my friend is interested in a panel that can help explore how to build worlds for writers, game developers, etc, possibly from someone with experience in that area and how they made their fictional world, what worked for them, what helped them get creative and how to keep it all organized.

I'd definitely like to be on this - Worldbuilding's a special passion of mine.  I've actually written a book on it with more coming.  A lot could be done with this.

One subject that's also near and dear to my heart is how Worldbuilding differs with forms of media - a game, an anime, and a novel often require different levels of attention.
