Hey, just wondering if this will be repeated again in 2014? I'd love to attend, I didn't get to this year, but I walked by and i really wanted to join in.

 :D this gathering sounds like lots of fun. i say a thursday  meet up would be different but i don't know how many people could really come. because usually thats the day everyones arriving in san jose. so if it was a meet up later in the evening. i think lots of people would come along.
The series i'm cosplaying is from 2002, would i still be able to join in the gathering?

Sounds like an awesome idea for a gathering. I'll be there most likely as an observer, because  I love old school animes. But the old school cosplay I'm doing is from an anime, and the series is a little older than than 2000.  ;D

depending on when it is i'm sure we could probably drop in for a bit =)

Hey, well i am not new to fanime.. this will be my 3rd year attending (yayz) but I've never really been to a gathering. usually i end up getting lost, or just don't remember where to go. those are both my faults. but anyway onto the point...

At this point in time I am solidifying my cosplays so that i don't end up with the same issue as last year. (too many cosplays..too little days..and not enough energy) :D
so at this point I'm planning as going as Chobits Freya with my friends who's going as Chi. we will be doing Maid versions of them,  designs for them are still in the work. =) so look out for us.  (we'll probably be at the clamp gathering if there is one)


My second Cosplay is the one I'm worried about the most. It will be the first time I've taken on something this difficult. (note: I'm still a newbie). I will be cosplaying as Majeh from King of Hell. his envoy version that shows up in the first 2 books (alternate coloring) . This has been over a year project. I'm fearful of traveling with such an overly styled wig. so any tips for traveling with it would be helpful. (we are driving if that helps)(also any tips for styling would be great).
Also I'm looking for any fellow fans of the series..cause at this point i haven't meet very many people who know the series.  I'd love to meet people who know it  :D ;D :D

so if you can help me or if you know the series, let me know, cause I'm already scared that I'll be weird person running around in the unknown cosplay. (<--has happened in the past)   :P

First off, I'm glad that you're returning. :D I love it when we get returners. Second, there is usually a CLAMP gathering of decent size. If I remember correctly, it is usually on Sundays, but that isn't always a guarantee. You should keep an eye out for it on the Cosplayer Gathering Department's official list (though it may still happen even if it's not on the list.) Thirdly, I'm super excited that you're doing a King of Hell cosplay. I haven't read that in years. I plan to keep returning to fanime as long as possibly can. oh, yay for the clamp gathering, i was supposed to go last time but was unable to due to schedule issues. which if it takes place on Sunday i will most likely be unable to attend.  :(  but i will keep an eye on it and hope that will be able to attend it, if not oh well i will still have fun with my Chi.
lol yep ism representing an old series, which is my personal first and favorite series. whether or not people recognize me is something that scared me a little, cause it is a bit of an older series. But hey if you see me wandering around on either Saturday or Friday (most likely Saturday) say hi to me please  :D

Hey i posted this under the "looking for.." 2012 thread but was directed to post this piece here, I'm hoping someone can help me. so here i go.

I'm fearful of traveling with such an overly styled wig. so any tips for traveling with it would be helpful. (we are driving if that helps). Also any tips for styling would be great because I'm working with an cosworx Ivy wig, that i have just dyed to the perfect color and am still trying to figure out how to make his hair arc. the difficulty I'm having with his hair, i would like it to look like his hair, but still retain its movement that it shows inside the book.
so any and all advice is much appreciated.

i think friday from 8-10 would work..its after the rush of people, but would we get good photos at night? plus thats usually around most ppls dinner time...

omg i have been searching for this thread for awhile. if its on a frinday or saterday i'll be there as kirill from DOD with my bjd as well =), if other ppl ill be there with bjds, i'll feel alot safer bringing mine too.

I find it amusing that the number of requests for KPop artists seem to grow each year.

Just for discussion's sake only since I'd love to hear all kinds of input from the attendees...
We mostly focus on Japanese artists, but would you actually like to see MusicFest expand to include artists/musicians/bands from other Asian countries?

yes, i think it'd be awesome to ass more of the other asian countries in musicfest, they are growing more and more popular each day. plus it'd be a little taste of something new at a convention.

correction, my friend is going as ireland and my other is going as scotland. so the friend who was orignally canada is ireland and the other one that orignally couldnt stay is staying and being scotland.

i'm running out of ideas..lol swy, but heres my input

 :( sad its on sunday, wont be there this year. but hey i hope everyone in it and watching has the best time ever.
i hope next years will be held on a saterday so i can participate too. ^^

well i can see how saterday may be difficult, but it doesnt seem like many gatherings are jumping at the friday and thursday slots? so? idk..just throwing that in there. and if you need help moving things or getting things put togeather i can probably help if i'm there.

  lol yeah, so far a good percentage of my friends are cosplaying as final fantasy characters.  which recently all of them have become affirmitive yes's that they are going to cosplay as final fantasy characters. so yep, we have a tifa, lenne, and yuna. i'm still the only maybe because i'm doing Orignal version of garnet..and am have trouble bringing myself to truelly want to do it.:D
