Three months to go, hopefully everyone is hard at work on their costumes :)

Still waiting for gathering stuff to officially open up in order to get things full swing

Chances are we'll try for the same day (Saturday) and within the same time frame (between 2pm and 4pm for start times)

Hey everyone, think of this as a bit of a placeholder description until we come closer to the start of official gathering submission period.

Part of me is semi-struggling with the thought of running DC and Marvel again, when I would rather just run one ala the "rotating system" that I did want to implement starting last year where myself and one other person can alternate the running of the DC and Marvel gatherings each year to make things a little less hectic. However, due to not being able to find a person that could run DC last year (I was running Marvel), I had to step in to run both. Although things ran surprisingly well, I did still want to try running the "rotating system" for 2017.

That is unless people would want me to run both again.

Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

I saw a marvel cosplay gathering That wasn't near the steps outside, it was indoors.   Where is that one posted In advance?

Probably an unofficial gathering or you might be confusing it with the DC gathering that was relocated inside

Have to say that with the change to a new cosplay gathering staff, things did go pretty well.

Kinda do wish that there would be some kind of "gathering location suggestions" type of deal for next year. I bring this up due to what happened with the DC gathering and the Undertale gathering. Basically; Undertale got too big, gathering staff came over to me and asked if they could switch spaces with DC (moving from G9 in the pit area to G4 with the two stages on the first floor of the con center). Having the knowledge of which large gathering locations would be best suited in cases like this arise could be useful to both cosplayers and photographers (I got a little worried that the setup of G4 would complicate things from a positioning and photo perspective).

I would also second the megaphone idea. Last year, I did not have a megaphone on hand for the Marvel gathering and had to yell loud, causing me to lose my voice (being sick did not help matters). This year, I ended up borrowing a megaphone from a friend of mine and it was a total lifesaver for both Marvel and DC gathering (especially with the relocation process).

Other than those two things, the gathering process went pretty well and the gathering staff was helpful both in the planning stages prior to the convention (props to you Imperial for the hard work you had this year) and props to the gathering staff that worked the con (the ladies that worked the gathering check-in table, the guy that helped me out when migrating the DC gathering). It made what looked to be such a daunting task (running two gatherings back-to-back) a much more plesant experience.

Hello all, curious to know if anyone took photos of two costumes that I did at Fanime this year

Saturday: Nightwing
Sunday: Female OC (Was wearing white robe coat, navy blue one piece, strawberry blonde hair, star necklace)

Recently, seeing the panels that have been revealed and some appear to be things that qualify more as Fan Events (specifically the Q&As where people are cosplaying as characters from a series). It does bring up a valid question, what really qualifies as a panel and what really qualifies as a fan event?

[DC Cosplay Gathering 2016]

Greetings all. Some of you remember last year that myself and ICosplayNeji went with the idea of running separate gatherings for both Marvel and DC. Both the separate gatherings went rather well and seems like a good idea to do the idea again. Unfortunately, due to other gathering commitments, Neji is unable to run the DC gathering this year. No worries though, I have decided to pull double duty with running the DC gathering along with the Marvel gathering. Most likely it will be the same setup as last year (DC first, Marvel right after), so I'm hoping that 2016's edition will end up just as fun as last years.
