if AX became for-profit, wow they got a lot of licensing issues on their website alone to deal with . lol
as the previous website manager, most of the technoloy we used, was under free license provided that we stay 'non-profit'.  the moment AX/SPJA declares for-profit, they better be ready to shell out the money for the a proper license to avoid getting sued.

=
good chance for fanime to take the lead!??!?! :D

So yeah, as the topic says, will anyone in the dealers hall or any where else be selling Shikishi boards?

Like a noob idiot, I forgot to bring up an item for Haruko Momoi to sign (drove up from So Cal). (Actually now that I think about it, i probably don't have anything suitable for her 'to' sign, as I am not a fan of signed DVD boxes and the likes)

but in any event...a shikishi will do just fine, but i didn't bring my extras up either.  So i am stuck again.

Any chance there will be some at the dealers hall?
I've been around in the dealers hall in the past, I wasn't really looking, but i don't remember seeing any at all :\

Okay, just to confirm...

I want to sell on Thursday and I have my form filled out and my stuff ready but I didn't sign up for a spot

So I can just go, wait in line, and for sure get a spot for Thursday's swap meet?
It is first come, first served. We may run out of spaces though, so you won't 'for sure' get a spot. It depends on the demand and how many people are in line before you.
judging from previous years, how early must one line up to get a spot?
is swap meet usually pretty big demand?

but yeah. i take it fanime autograph sessions are not like AX. i would hate it, if it were.

Ideas and Suggestions / Feedback Topic?
May 14, 2009, 06:19:18 PM
There needs to be a feedback topic for FanimeCon.
OR is there already one?

Some place we can open up and say our goods and bads of FanimeCon.

---

If anything i have nothing but good to say for FanimeCon.
WHY IS FANIMECON SO AWESOME?

ALL under aged girls, all staying alone at a hotel at Fanime.
this is just setting up for bad news.

are both phenomenal places to get glowsticks, even the ultra bright ones
buy them in bulk much cheaper.

anyone else COMPLETELY STOKED Haruko is gna be at Fanime?
i admit, this is insanely AWESOME.
argghhh...i freaking love FanimeCon..

If anyone's thinking about getting some ultra bright sticks, please buy some of the 5 minute orange ones; there are certain times during certain songs that they should get lit (of course, not knowing the set list, there's no telling how many would be needed).
I have several ultras stocked up already.  As my brother runs a glowsticking workshop @ AX.
I'll bring extra just in case.

and yes, it is bummer not know the set list, but i think we'll hear more at the panel perhaps?
I don't know. you are right though, knowing the songs before hand would sure help our pro 'calling'. i dont wanna have to memorize all the call signs for every single song of hers.

Big Event Showcase / Autograph Sessions?
May 14, 2009, 06:00:51 PM
I have no idea if this belongs here. if it doesn't, please move it.

Anyways, i am excited Halko Momoi is making a come back to California, after the TERRIBAD at AX.
I am wondering how the autograph situation usually is for guests of honor at Fanime.

is the autograph session for Halko Momoi going to be something I am going to have to line up for 18 hours prior?

I agree too, the staff can't help what gets submitted. However, I would not have minded if they had cut the number down and gone with a slightly shorter showing. Maybe 2 hours instead of 3? Also, the volume was really loud with certain AMVs, but I don't know if that has to do with the submission itself and therefore can't be helped.
As far as volume, the staff can control it while they are playing it.
but if the source is toooo Loud, then thats a problem on the creators part as well...

using bad audio source...

Quote from: "dealerJason"I know how you feel, but please understand folks, FMV, Masquerade, artist alley, they are all at the mercy of those who want to contribute.  If you want to see better things, why not try contributing?  Try your hand and get better.

I know many were upset about the comedy selection, but guess what?  That is the hardest subject to do.  The hours and energy it takes to splice the video and music together in an entertaining way is not an easy task.

I hope you guys understand that the world needs more AMV editors.  If we don't encourage more with our contest, there will not be many who want to enter.

Sincerely,
Jason Ebner
i agree....
if the AMV show is not good this year..it just means the submission in general were not great.

I have to agree, the submissions this year were weak...and who is to blame?  not the Fanime staffers, it is us. the amv creators..

not enuff good videos..period.

yup it was there.
saw it

woot the award ceremony was awesome

good show overall for the FMVs this year!

I was wondering if someone could provide the entire list of finalists and winners so we could go find their videos on amv.org ;)

well the poll question was a bit unclear as to spend where...but so far on anime merchandise alone, outside of Fanime I've spend 600+. and i haven't even shopped yet at Fanime OR Anime Expo.

so 1001+ for the year. ;)
