Not sure if I'll be able to contribute a cool costume but I'll do my best to stop by and take pictures. Sounds like a great idea. :)

We could take over and make it happen? I'd be happy to be an Alice. :)

Not sure if I'll be free but if I am and this actually happens then I'd be happy to join in. A Nerf war sounds fun. I've got a steampunked nerf gun. :)  Triva would be rad. Wish I had a rad firefly cosplay but no such luck. I do own a Jayne hat though.

in the last 3 years I've have successful [thanks to J9isawesome's help] to have a " T-shirt gathering "
check out this thread!!! http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,11828.0.html

this way we all semi stay in one place with one specific theme and my home is huge enough to have various break off groups in various rooms doing various things with the main T-shirt making process as the main idea, but you have the freedom to do other things such as: board games, DS-multiplay, rock band, snack/food runs, movie/anime watching and etc....
...
Course now that fanime is less 60 days away and me with meetings every 2 weeks... my weekends are very limited.

So if I had a "T -shirt gathering" I'd prolly have to wait until after fanime--- then again summer heat sucks...  :-\

*waves* I still exist. ;) I'd be willing to help out with a tshirt gathering again if it were to take place on a weekend I was free. I know a lot of ppl know how to do it themselves by now so I also wouldn't have hurt feelings if someone else wanted to teach ppl instead on a weekend I'm not free.

Raging Waters and Santa Cruz sound like fun ideas too. It seems like it has been forever since I've been to an actual fanime meet up so I hope I can make it out in the future.

There is a designer in LA who might be more than happy to supply a few custom made dresses for the show. She's gone to many anime cons in the past, but due to budget restriction this year she's chosen to bow out. However  I think that her dresses would be an amazing addition to this show. Her site is www.carlyfornia.com
In the mean time I'll ask her if she'd want to do any work with this panel if wanted.
I hope this doesn't come off mean, because it's not meant to, but I don't think her designs are exactly what we're looking for. We are all for including handmade, off brand and indie brands in our fashion show but only if they're made of high quality fabrics & lace and the overall design is true to the lolita image.

Also I'd like to do some modeling for the panel, so long as it doesnt cut into the LM.C concert
Well I hope you can join in on the fun. We'll be sure to let everyone know what time our panel will be the moment we know and we'll post more info on modeling soon.

wait, people can actually volunteer as a model for this?
We're still waiting to hear back from fanime staff to see if our panel will be approved. Once we know that this is in fact happening we'll post a model request form on here (as well as other places) so you guys know exactly what we're looking for. Basically this is very much a by the fans for the fans type panel, fashion show included. We'll be picking local lolitas from various online communities that have their own wardrobe first. After that anyone is welcome to volunteer to model and we'll do our best to include as many people as possible and set them up with borrowed outfits.

I'll have to get back to you on the Sept. 20th...

knowing my luck,i've probably already triple booked it.   :P

but I'll have to get back to you on that.
Jerry, I'm buying you a day planner for xmas. You seriously double book yourself more than anyone else I know.

I don't think the 20th will work out for me, I'm pretty sure I'll have to work that day. :(

i started an LJ but never did anything with it.

i think its under - ranma23456 (my e-mail addy) but knowing that i signed up for it i already probably forgot my pass word.

but im guessin its better than myspace or facebook?

LJ > Facebook > Myspace > xanga

someone correct this equation please.  :P

Livejournal: I <3 LJ. I will stay their until it dies. Way better for posting globs of pictures and way better for communities. I can't count how many real friends I've made through livejournal. :) Oh, and in case anyone cared and didn't know my old account has been deleted and my new one is http://j9isawesome.livejournal.com/

Myspace: For 13 year old whores, the 50 year old men that prey on them, and bands that won't stop hassling me to listen to their awful music. Better than myspace but not by much. Yes it is better to keep in touch with ppl over myspace than LJ but I'd still prefer email for that.

Facebook: Annoying as heck. Why can't you just say "so&so left you a message". No instead it's "so&so wrote on your wall". Dumb. If I get one more zombie bite, 'someone thinks ur a hottie' message or invite to join the cool kids that listen to bad music club I'm deleting my account.

Xanga: I didn't know anyone who ever used xanga, I thought it was pretty much dead by now ;)

I don't know, erin esurance is pretty hot. I'm guessing by your little spy ladies outfit that we're going for futuristic spy and not retro spy. If that's the case I feel like she needs some cool acessories like sunglasses that have night vision and can shoot lazers beams, or a nifty raygun...wait, I think I'm accidentally changing her into a futuristic assasian instead of spy. My bad. I fail. Just don't give her a blue tooth unless you decide you do want to make her look like miss esurance (although a belt wouldn't be a bad idea).

Sounds like a rad idea. I'd offer up my place but my apartment is tiny.

I vote:
Santa Clause Conquers the Martians. I bought it from the dollar bins in Target a couple years ago. Ask Kegan, that one was was awful/hilarious.

One of the greatest episodes of MST3K was Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.  It's awesome.  I have the MST3K version on DVD.   :D

Oh, I didn't know it had actually been done already. I fail.

When I went to Hooters (over a year ago, and obviously not the one in Campbell) the food was slightly below average and so were the ladies. Keep in mind that I'm vegetarian and that Hooters is famous for having really great hot wings.

wtf? a children's menu? and what do you mean "family friendly" restaurant?
Sorry to disapoint you, since you seem to think that Hooters is like a giant strip club restaurant but it's really not. It's no more a bar than Chillis or BJs and at least when I went the girls were pretty covered. Short shorts and tight tshirts, you can see that almost anywhere.

I'm down if someone wants to carpool up there from San Jose. I'd rather not drive that far by myself.

I got my pictues up: http://j9isawesome.livejournal.com/85964.html Sorry they're mixed in with other pictures from that day. Also my camera died so I didn't get a lot. Anyone else get pictures from the gathering?

I really liked that there were so many lessons this year, it seemed like people for the most part knew what they were doing out on the dance floor. I also felt that enforcing a dress code is a godo idea. Everyone looked really nice.

How do you guys not understand that this needs a HUGE room. I'm glad this year's room is bigger than last year but clearly not enough. How long were people stuck standing in line? When I left the line still went all the way down the hall and then curved. Bad planning :(

Seriously, wtf guys?! I get it, you're not funny without the internet. But you should know better than to trust fanime staff yo have internet set up. "For the fans by the fans" = never having your act together = you should have been smart enough to have had at least a little bit of fun stuff already saved on your computer just in case.

Also, what happened to day two? Did you get banned, no internet again, got lazy?
