Ok I want to add on people saying how it doesn't feel like an anime con anymore.

I actually want to agree and disagree. When I was at Anime Boston a month ago, good cosplayers were so scarce I literally had to look through a hundred to even get one.

The problem isn't with the people but with any recent " big hit" anime other than Madoka Magica which I did see a good number at FanimeCon (where as Anime Boston had... 1 )

K-On! was last year and Lucky Star, Haruhi, TTGL, Code Geass and etc were the last previous whatever years.

I'm sure a lot of cosplayers WANT to cosplay as something but problem numero uno is the anime hence why the feeling of that lack of. People follow the fandom here at FanimeCon in respect to what's released in Japan quite closely and I would say probably on the same level of AX if not more since AX is an industry con (not saying that's a bad thing) where many fans are casual and not as closely in tuned with releases overseas as much as they are with domestic licenses and such.

I wish you all were at Anime Boston to see the dry spell. In comparison, you guys are spoiled here.

And the guy talking shit about the maids, what service were you expecting? I was there for both Saturday and Sunday and after visiting about oh I don't know, every table that was set up, there was a maid present either chatting with the people there or playing games with them. I spoke with a maid in her after hours and she worked 12+ hours in the combined two days. Take the time they have to train for their performances on Stage Zero and so forth, I don't know why there should even be any negative attitude towards them.

I don't think I've ever had a bad FanimeCon experience since 2004 when I started going

Quick question about Blazblue. Will it be BB:CS2 or BB:CS.

Edit: I'm hoping it'll be BB:CS2

:X

EDIT Again: Will it be the newly updated 1.03 is what I meant.

You guys are complaining about Cali weather? My god... come to Boston or any New England area. The weather here is beyond crap. Like it mists. Ever heard of misting? It's like half assed rain which is more annoying than anything.

EDIT: Nvm... -_-

Weather forecast THAT far ahead is almost never accurate. I wouldn't bank on that.

Ok anyone wanna play some BB at the con? I'm seriously done with this online lag crap. Can't do Haida loop at all. I don't even give a shit if I fight a dozen rags as long as it's offline... Jesus Christ maybe the lag is due to PSN or something... that or one of the 10 people on the 3 floors of this building using the same internet is downloading, streaming, whatever the **** else.

I had about a dozen Dengenki Hime's and Daioh's.. I wound up recycling them all, so they've probably wound up as toilet paper by now.

No... NO! NO! NO! *bangs head on table*

This is a side thing and I'm not too sure if this is where I can bring it up but I remember back when Reuben Langdon played some SFIV I think back in 09? Was wondering if maybe there could be a part where the fans could challenge maid(s) to some game on Stage Zero?

This has been thought of quite a bit. But the issue with this is how much could we do with the time we have. With the Quiz Maid Academy game, there's a chance for people to play a game *with* the maids and win prizes and stuff. To actually play things against the maids, we have the cafe itself where you can play fun little games with them and the such. Although I would like to put up a big event like playing an actual video game against the maids and such, time restraints and capabilities run a little short. To setup the system would be like... 5 or so min and clean up with be 5 or so min. So unless I wipe out part of the concert(which I'm not doing) we'd only have like... 15 minutes at most to do this. Then picking contestants and everything, at most we'd get in like 3 or 4 matches.

One of the big reasons I would like to do this, is outside of people that are actually good and know the game well, I could teach the maids to beat people and I'd love to see that happen, hahahah.

Enju for example could probably beat your random BlazBlu player pretty easy. With 30 min of prep training Jun would be able to beat your random SF player.

But outside of all that. I do have something setup for a little interaction this year for Fanimaid Live. So I hope audience members will participate in itand not be buzz kills by just standing there when it happens.

I'm not too familiar with the times Stage Zero will be available for use but is it possible where the whole gaming part of the maid cafe be separate from the dances, singing and etc like two sessions on different days? I would assume it would ease the stress of the change in setup from the whole dancing and what-not to gaming. Maybe offer some prizes for beating the maid in a challenge like you mentioned with the Maid Quiz Academy? Not this year but maybe a possibility idea for the future Maid Cafe Stage Zero events. I mean I genuinely would love to see it expand to that point and I think doing that shows how strong you, Jun, Mizuki, maids and etc. are willing to take this big event showcase to bigger and bigger levels. Think about it and I'll be frank here when I say this: I think the maid cafe performance on Stage Zero last year was probably the most popular Stage Zero event ( unless I missed something..).

On the side note of the games aside from Street Fighter and other fighters maybe like Puzzle Fighter or something xD. But then again it goes back to your point on the whole time constraint and stuff unless you got some maids with killer PF skills >_>;

I'd like to see a good mix of old anime new anime themes where both old school anime fans and newer anime fans would enjoy. Dance, solo and group songs are all pretty important imo of making the maid performances on Stage Zero diverse and fun to watch. As far as meme songs, I personally have had enough of them.

Would be interesting where fans could request a song out of a list on spot but I'm not sure how well that would work out or if it would be even practical at all..

This is a side thing and I'm not too sure if this is where I can bring it up but I remember back when Reuben Langdon played some SFIV I think back in 09? Was wondering if maybe there could be a part where the fans could challenge maid(s) to some game on Stage Zero?

I thought overall last year the Stage Zero performances was pretty good and having Momoi there was another big plus so hopefully she'll make her appearance again.

Is it safe to assume that the guest is Gashicon and the fashion show is for Hangry&Angry? : )

Yeah I kinda was 99% it's what it was considering the releases of her attendance of AM2 that Chase was giving me matched the initial announcement of this. Didn't want to mention it earlier cause I would have probably been slaughtered by Tony/sysadmin/God.

I'm pretty good at haggling due to my years of going to the Oakland flea market (lol) so I can tell you from the mentality of a buyer they are either afraid to offend the seller by asking a low-ball price or don't think it will go any lower. That or regardless of the price unless it's low low, people don't have the strong want for that item. Also from the point of view of a buyer if that person really knows his shit and wants to get something for a bargain but sees the price just a tad lower than what you would find at retail, he would think that the seller knows about prices and worth and that trying to lower the price to an acceptable price to buy as compared to buying from Ebay or wherever else wouldn't happen. For example last year I saw a few swap meet sellers who thought they " knew" about prices of PVCs and charged $100+ for one. Though not saying it's higher than what a retailer would sell it for, it's not a price someone who's out to bargain hunt would buy regardless of how rare the PVC is. For me, I bought an Alter Fate Testarossa for $40. It was a no brainer of course but people also value something you value differently.

I would say for a seller if someone seems to be interested in something you have, start up a little convos to ease the mood a little bit and make it feel like it's just you and the buyer in a casual talk. it's swap meet after all and you all are fans and people with the same passion so don't be shy either. Hell, if I see some crap a seller which really catches my attention, I'd start the chat myself regardless whether I buy it or not. Transitioning from casual talk to business talk is a bit of a change but it should be done at the flexibility of the buyer because as a seller, you're goal is to sell and sell everything. They are the ones with the money and you're the one trying to get it ( though I guess the same could be said vice versa). Ask what the person wants to pay for it and make it clear you won't be offended by it. It can go two ways from there: you sell or make a counter-offer. The biggest mistake you could make is to simply say no and end the convos where you turn off the buyger. For example if you have something for $40 and the person says $20, don't give a snobby look but simply say how about $30 or something in between or a bit higher or lower than in between the two prices. That person can either make another counter offer, accept the price or leave. Keep in mind not to make a counter offer retarded as in if the person says $20 for something you want for $40, don't say like... $38. You might as well not even waste your breath unless the person counter offers $30~. It means the person genuinely wants the item so he's scared making a super low ball offer would turn you off from even giving any discount. It's really how good you are at talking (ie. your social skills), how much you want to sell something ( how much you are willing to sacrifice), how much the person wants it and how good you are at interpreting body language and the knowledge of the buyer.

Lastly, you have to consider the items you have and how wanted they are, but keep in mind no matter how wanted it is, it is still a swap meet so setting a price that's outrageous wouldn't work either.

I'm probably not covering stuff I'd like to say atm but once I'm done with my exam(s), I'd have more mental capacity to come up with a more "complete" guide if you call it.

Swap Meet and arcades = win, chill Thursday night.

I'm kinda hoping there will be a Blazblue tourney :/

Oh snap!

So when will sysadmin be officially announced? :X

Well for the past 8 years FanimeCon hasn't failed me yet so yeah. And I want to be the first one to say that I'm excited to meet the director of Oh! Edo Rocket.

I hated the hug line. It was awkward and blocked movement, causing traffic. I doubt staffs are going to stand there to manage a line where people stand holding out their arms looking for hugs.

Wow this actually sounds cool to check out.

I talked about how her death in episode 3 changed the approach people had for this anime and shattered the idea of what a typical mahou shoujo anime was. I clarified that it didn't even have to be Mami but more so the brutal nature of what happened and what people can expect from then on of this anime.

No, I didn't mean I wanted someone to be in a life threatening situation. You mentioned how it sickens you to see me post about how Sayaka wouldn't make the wish if they weren't close to each other. I basically questioned you whether or not you would risk your life if you had to for someone, a stranger or someone not as close. How in the world does me saying that mean I actually want it to happen just to prove my point? YOU'RE the person who made the statement and I'm saying how I believe in karma and that IF... IF you had to do what you have to to save a life,  that what you said to me wasn't bs and you'd actually do it. I wasn't a will of mine but more of a question of " would you stake your life on the line if you had to" type of thing. Again, you took what I said with too many pinches of salt.

And you are putting things into my mouth especially when I'm telling you what I wrote and what you interpret are completely wrong. You're basically forcing my statements into what you see them as and not just that but interpreting them as the WORST even though in no way they were what I meant. You're even forcefully telling me how what I said isn't what I said but what YOU want what I said to be.

What you said about Sayaka? You're still not understanding what I'm saying so I'm not even gonna repeat myself and try and explain it. Maybe I suck at explaining it? If anything it would be nice to have someone else discuss this on top of you or I.

And let's keep this focused on the show now, please. No more "you're a/an <blank>!" type of comment. I see what you're trying to say as well, it's not like I'm turning a blind eye.

EDIT:

I will admit however I really appreciate the two of you at least discussing this anime with me. I had to play catch up and by the time I finished it, people have already discussed it to death. Had certain comments been taken out, I would have enjoyed everything up to now even more. By no means do I hope either to stop posting here and I haven't made that in any way apparent. In fact, I'd rather have SOMETHING said than talking to myself here and having these thoughts boggle up.
