I registered 1 - 2 hours after it opened and my booking time is Jan 18, 1pm.

I'm pretty nervous for what'll be available by then, but fingers crossed!

Hi! I started attending panels just least year, and Fanfiction 201 was one of them! I really enjoyed it, as well as the packets that you guys handed out. Although I've never been (yet), I'd love 120, especially with the idea that it's a "more relaxed open lab" kind of panel. Is the attendance usually much lower with it?

I registered around 1:15. Went smoother than a baby's bum. Then again...

I was afraid there might be some traffic issues with so many people trying to reg at once, but maybe the last minute nature of the annoumcement curbed the rush?

I too am crossing my fingers that the announcement threw a number of people off - enough to get a decent slot for hotel reservation, at least.

If you consider the intent of the rule (makeup or other items applied to the face or body can cause allergic reactions or be poorly made in a way that creates other adverse affects that Fanime does not want to be liable for) then I think dry nail polish on a product should be perfectly fine. Polymer clay artists often use powder makeup for pigment on their products and Fanime almost always has a Polymer clay artist or two. What kind of products do you make?

I was thinking of selling my nail art on nail spines, (https://img1.etsystatic.com/013/0/6476818/il_570xN.424408985_rp3m.jpg) serving the double purpose of either a wearable accessory or an art piece. Ever year I do prom nails for some girls from high school. After taking my little brother to Fanime for the first time, he suggested I sell my work in AA. I'm aiming for 2018 because I need to both practice some more and put together a portfolio.

I'm planning a long-term goal of applying for Artist Alley in 2018. Yes, 2018.
I saw that some of the things not allowed are "Food, beverages, makeup products, soap, skin care products, face painting services or hazardous items."

Does nail polish fall under that if it's already dried and on the products I'm intending to sell? Also, does anyone with experience of going through this process have any tips to share?

I'm staying at the Ramada, but check-in isn't until 3pm. I also don't have a car. I'm trying to figure out (A) what I'm supposed to do and (B) how I'm supposed to do it chronologically. Does the hotel have a place where I can put my luggage? If not, I'll be using the fan storage until check-in time. If I use the fan storage, does it require having my badge already?

Overall, I just wanna be prepared for when I'll be lugging my all stuff around, where, and for how long.

As someone not new to Fanime, but new to booking a hotel room on my own, the timeouts had me screaming. ;__; At first I genuinely thought something was wrong with my laptop or my connection.

Hi! My little brother and I are going to cosplay Kagami Taiga and Himuro Tetsuya from "Kuroko No Basuke". I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy good quality jerseys and shorts of theirs, along with a Kagami wig that requires little/easy styling. I've looked all over, but it's difficult for me to trust the quality of a product when it has very few or no reviews. x3

Ahh, I see. I've talked it over with my dad. I think he'll most likely just be driving along with us and he'll be there when we check in.

Also be sure you are aware of the hotel's age policy. Many hotels in san jose require you to be 21 and up.

I will in fact be 21 by the time Fanime rolls around, but that confuses me (and is now making me lightweight nervous). Does this mean that everyone I'm sharing the room with has to be 21+? Or does it all depend on specific hotels' policies? The person in charge of booking and paying for the room for my group last year was 18/19 years old. He was the youngest of us and he went through the whole shebang without a parent/guardian.

When you check in, you will need to have the card you used to reserve the room, but you can choose to put the security deposit on a different card. I highly recommend putting the security deposit on a credit card, because if you use a debit card, it can put a hold on your funds for weeks.

Does the owner of the credit card have to be present? Also, is it absolutely necessary to bring the credit card? Couldn't I just bring proof of sorts that I reserved the room?

Thanks so much for the replies! I'm now aware that reserving the room is a different process from actually paying for it. I'm still kind of confused though. Could you guys please break it down a little bit more for me? (I'm sorry!) For example, am I paying for anything at all during the reservation process?

My biggest (and probably only) problem right now is that I only have a debit card and cash, but no credit card. My dad said I could use his credit card for the security deposit, but I don't even know if paying for the deposit happens online or in person. xP I'm lost.

Hi everyone! This'll be my fourth year attending Fanime, but this is my first time on the forums... and my first time basically "adulting".

I've never made hotel reservations on my own before, and I have some social anxiety, so even asking for help here is kind of intimidating. From what I understand so far, the discounted Fanime rooms are really hard to get because of the rush of everyone trying to get one. I'm trying to get a room big enough for 3 - 4 people, but also trying to save money. Is the rush worth it, or should I just pay the regular price now?

What should I be expecting when I'm in the process of reserving a room? Can I pay with a debit card or cash? Do I pay online or do I pay in person? Are you supposed to check-in exactly at the hotel's check-in time? Help... ;__;
