Not announcing and breaking their own rule!
I was abit shocked arriving at (thursday)9pm and found out the swap meet is full. We were in line still at a very early time to pick up our badges because rule states "you must have a badge on thursday in order to come in /or to registered for swapmeet.
I check the announcements to see if swap meet changed a ruling that it's okay to visit by without a badge but all i got was the announcement for the black out and handing out free bottle waters!

got the badges at 8:45pm we got all the stuff from my car to the hotel and was surprised swapmeet was full, even if my name was on the list! then around 9:15pm they made announcements that the swap meet is now open for those without a badge!

--My biggest dissapointment is: They DID NOT FOLLOWED THEIR OWN RULINGS nor make any changes/announcements to the forum/website that (thursdays) swap meet is a badgless event!
really appreciated if they had the time to add a quick announcement to the rovers at registrations!
--constantly getting harassed by swapmeet rovers since I was exhausted and needed 20 minute break! (we are not selling, we are just taking a break! come on...)

I'm sorry you didn't get the updates but I did update the website at 7:38pm and the forum at 8:25pm. Do you have any ideas on how I could make future at-con announcements more visible?

Perhaps posting to the Fanime Twitter account as well might help?

Well, it's been less than a week since Fanime ended this year, and they've already started work inside the Convention Center itself, walling off portions of the main walkway as well as the registration area.  Photos can be found here.

I'm still working on photos, but I got up to Friday done at this point, including my gathering shots.  I don't have all the groupings though, being one of the Big Macs and therefore being in some groupings instead of taking pictures of them.

Got back from Fanime a while ago, and I wanted to say that this was a great gathering.  While I've been to other gatherings, it's always been as a photographer.  This was my first time on the other side of things and I had a great time.  Thanks to Marisuga for organizing this and to everyone for making it so great! :D

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does FCC HS stand for?  I'd like to possibly go, but need to know where it is first lol.

FCC HS = Front of Convention Center, Hilton Side  Judging by the photos posted in the gatherings list sticky thread, it'll be at the walkway between the Hilton and the construction site where the old Main Library used to be.

Got room for another Big Macintosh for the gathering?  If so, I can step in as well :)

It's another way of saying "nickname", or "forum name" in this case. :)

As long as you credit me, I have no problems with you using the photos you're in :)  You can credit me either by my handle (which is also the same as on my DA), or my full name (PM me if you want to go that route). :)

Yeah, the bento set at Psycho Donuts was really good, and fun all around.  They got really overwhelmed by the demand for it though (I went Saturday to get a set, and had to reserve one for Sunday pickup instead).

I'd say no, since con staff has clearly stated that they don't want us to, and it'd essentially be feeding the trolls.

Whoever had the idea of parking that moving van in front of them on Saturday, all I have to say is Genius! :D

Likewise, the Tetris/Rubik's Cube/misc. cosplayer free-for-all on Friday did a great job of distracting people from them. :D

Nice guys aren't nice at all.

I hope it's not too late!  I had to wrestle with scanning in a couple of images that were too large for a typical scanner (in other words, had to do some merging/stitching)
