I'm sorry but the SFIV tourney was a cluster-#*$&.

Standing around for four hours?
Getting into the third round w/o fighting once?

This seriously needs to be worked on for next year.
well look how many ppl we had over 100 plus ppl for that tournament. And keep this in mind we almost max out with 128 ppl. yes it was a long tournament.

Hello all!  Is a player allowed to sing and play instrument at the same time?  I mean it can be 3 members in a band can the singer also play an instrument?  That would seem to make things more fun.
(message from ramen ^_^) Yes you can. We will have a mic stand present and also a secondary mic for back up vocals ^_^
Wait, does that also mean that if the song you were thinking of doing had only a vocal and gituar part (i.e. Bob Dylans Tangled up in Blue on RB2) you could perform as a "one man band"?

(ramen again dont feel like useing my account lol! ^_^;)
Yes...yes you could. But you have to make sure you ROCK!!!
Trust meh, ROCKing is not a problem. (Not failing both the Gituar and Vocal even on easy, though, is a much diffrent matter... I'm gonna' need practice.)

(ramen) Yeah it would be awesome to see. good luck just fyi the game will be set on no fail during tourny. That should make it less stressful for ya.   Oh come by on thursday for the staff freestyle to see stage zero get beat by E gaming ^_^ (tee hee)

Quailify songs will be determine
RULESETS:

Qualifying Songs: I already pick the songs for the tournament. You guys wont see the list until the day of the tournament. Keeping it a surprise.

All score is done by Perfects (or OK's).

There will be a qualifier song to see where people rank.  Song will not be mentioned until the tournament.  It will either be top 16 or top 32 who makes the cut.  If possible, there may be byes.
Depending on the entries will might have a lot of people so be perpare.

All matches will be best 2-of-3.

Single elimination format.  This may change, however, depending on the amount of entries.

Song choices will be done at player's choices.  For the first song, the higher-ranked qualifier can either choose song OR choose side.  Vice Versa for the second song.  On the third song, it will be played at random and the higher-ranked player chooses side.  In case of a draw, a 4th song and beyond will be treated as te third song.

If there is a bar-like handle such as Chair or a real-life DDR Bar, the bar can be used.  You have choice over that.  (This is still in debate at this moment)

Mods such as Solo/Note and speed mods like 2x can be used.  However. handicap mods that change the number of arrows such as Little cannot be used.

As later rounds progress, specific mods like Boost and Sudden will be enforced.

Though we will inspect the players, if a "Pad Error" occurs, please let us know.  This will not be declared if the results do not make a major difference.  The best decision will be made respectively.

I still have my old MT3 card, I used the "other method" in upgrading to MT3DX

Got a discard and upgraded that?

I just checked and I have a MT3 (used) and a MT3 discard

I wonder if I can use either of those and if so... would I still have my 820
yea just tell the whole world about the discard. lol

Heh, yeah
I don't know if it's just me, or when I think of something really "creative" then I put it out there it doesn't come out right
But I wasn't really expecting anything out of it, just something random to throw out

I'm looking forward to seeing a couple of those machines out there @ Fanime
And maybe if we get enough support we can do a tournament
the arcade ppl dont want any tournaments on there machines, they just want to make money. i wasnt trying to be mean. im just saying its not a good idea to do ghost tourney anyone can do it even a 7 year old kid.

well it depend on u guys. if u want that way i can do. but from everything everyone wants 2 out 3. but like i said its up to u guys if u want it.

Two out of three is standard, but it has to be double elim. STHD matches are over so fast that even if you somehow get 64 people, it'll be done in like 4 hours with 2 stations. There's 0 way it should be single elim, BUT if you do single elim it needs to be 3 out of 5.
thank you i'll keep that in mind. :)

Ahem...
I have an idea for FanimeCon 2009 with the MT machines.
I know that arcade tournaments are not allowed, so I thought of something along the lines of a "challenge" with the ghost system.

I call it the "Fastest at FanimeCon 2009" Challenge!

Here's what you do. Backup the top ghosts from whatever machine will be used, then wipe the top ghosts clean. Then let everyone who attends try to obtain as many top ghosts on the seven tracks over the weekend. On Monday, the user with the most dominance on the machine wins.

I think it's a good idea in theory, but probably won't work in action.
thats really stupid idea. Anyone can beat a ghost even if ur a top player on the map. just 1v1 or 2v2 and well pay for the plays. if u guys want to that. but the ghost idea not good.
