Friday after 10 works for me! Ideally I'd like to meet in the karaoke room (there are CHAIRS), since once the contest ends, open mic starts! I'd like to squeeze in a song before people start gathering and we all head out somewhere.

Lol, I do this every year! This is the first year I actually have a hotel room to crash in. I'd usually be slumming it for 4 days straight, haha. When I absolutely needed to, I'd nap in a dark screening room, haha. I'd take the lightrail home around 4 or 5am when nothing interesting was going on, to shower and come back.

Last year I felt my age catching up with me and couldn't stay up for two days straight, so I crashed at a hotel room my friends the Pokemon Men were staying in.

I haven't gotten mine either. Ah well. I guess I'll check again tomorrow, and if not, oh well. Next year.

I realize that the letters haven't been sent out yet, but to save us the trouble of possibly waiting until Day One, can it please be notified on the forum when the confirmation e-mails get officially sent out?

Yeah, you'd have to go to Santa Clara and Cupertino for that, which is technically still San Jose.

Fanime actually used to be held at the Santa Clara convention center from 2000 to 2003.

My guess would be that a lot more guys apply than girls, so I'm sure the m/f ratio for applications to speeddating aren't 1:1. What is the process for figuring out who gets to participate, as well as bringing the m/f ratio for participants to 1:1? Are there a certain number of slots to be filled on a first-come-first-served basis? Hypothetically, what if the slots for girls don't fill up completely? Wouldn't that require a reduction in the male slots to maintain 1:1? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just curious about the process of applicant processing, haha.

I get on lightrail at the Branham stop and take the northbound one. I've taken it every year, and it's cool to see a lightrail car full of con-goers and cosplayers, haha.
