Join us on Saturday, Feb 9, to watch subtitled anime. In this special month of romance and relationships (ahem!), why not come in and partake vicariously of some other relationships... such as Haruhi's relationship with everyone in her club? Or check out Le Chevalier D'Eon for a closer, albeit creepier, one. And of course, we've still got the team in Ghost in the Shell, the magic-wielding folks in Fate/Stay Night and Zero no Tsukaima. And don't forget to see Phoenix, a new adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's seminal work.

As always, many thanks to the Santa Clara City (CA) Library for hosting our meetings!  We're in the Redwood Room (the larger one) for the next 3 months.

12:30 Le Chevalier D'Eon #9*
12:55 Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig #14*
13:25 Fate/Stay Night #9*
13:55 Human Crossing #5
14:20 Abunai! Break time!
15:15 Phoenix #1-2
16:10 Zero no Tsukaima #10*
16:35 Rozen Maiden #12
17:00 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya #14? #9? #8!*

(* = not appropriate for all audiences, but if Fanime BBS doesn't weird you out, it's probably OK.)

This month, on Saturday January 12, join us at the Santa Clara City Library (CA) for an afternoon of anime. After this spate of cold weather, why not come inside and enjoy a (heart)warming tale of time travel and romance, in The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? Of course, we still have plenty of the usual intrigue for you in Le Chevalier D'Eon and Ghost in the Shell. And you can always bust a gut over the bizarre antics of the girls in Strawberry Marshmallows!

All times are approximate, so try to be early!

12:30 Le Chevalier D'Eon #8*
12:55 Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig #13*
13:25 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya #10? #8? #7!*
13:50 Fate/Stay Night #8*
14:20 Abunai! Break time!
15:15 The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
16:55 Strawberry Marshmallow #3*

This month, on Saturday December 8, join us at the Santa Clara City Library (CA) for an afternoon of anime. By an amazing coincidence, our meeting happens to fall on Bodhi Day this year. Bodhi Day is a Buddhist holiday that commemorates reaching Enlightenment, and we are adding a few episodes of Mini-Goddess to the schedule, including one about Buddha.

Also, to celebrate the season, the Santa Clara City Library has graciously allowed us to have cake in the viewing room. Please remember to bring your frequent viewer cards to the raffle. This is the last meeting of the year, which means that it is finally time to put the cards to use!

All times are approximate, so try to be early!

12:30 Le Chevalier D'Eon #7*
12:55 Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig #12*
13:25 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya #8? #7? #6!*

With Thanksgiving coming up, we'd like to express appreciation for all the people and all the resources that help make this club successful, including those who create anime, the licensing companies that bring anime over and support anime clubs, the library that hosts us, and all of you who attend meetings and continue to give us a reason to still be here. Thank you!

The Girl Who Lept through Time (Toki Wo Kakeru Shoujo) is showing at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival with showings on Saturday March 17 and Thurday  March 22. It's pretty likely that some of the No-Name Anime folks will make the Saturday showing.

I have no idea if any of the movie makers will attend, but the last time we saw an anime movie at this festival the Q&A after with the producer afterwards was a very nice bonus!
