Video Programming / Abridged anime 2012
April 02, 2012, 10:21:27 PM
well every one new year and what does that mean new abridge ser's. there is a site I go to get info on what ser to show/what's out there http://abridgedseries.wikia.com/wiki/Abridged_Series_Wiki but other then that let me know what other ser are out there or were we can find them. also I know everyone want the ser on the schedule I for one don't want to do that cause I want u to come to the room and be surprised. just like the way it was in the old school days of cons and anime clubs. other then that cant wait to see u next year!

well its a new year everyone with that said what eps would u liked screened. last year we tried something new in where we just randomized all the eps for 2 hours and as I might have thought it was a good idea it seemed to turn in to bad one. was I wrong? let me know if everyone liked it being random or calling out what eps u liked we can do it like that every year but if u want a programmed show we can do that too. but most of all let us know what eps we liked and would liked screened. on a side note we are probly going to go to 3 hrs with this program as well.

Ideas and Suggestions / Suggestions for Fanime 2012
June 01, 2011, 11:10:04 AM
Also, while the Video Rooms did have posted schedules, they weren't as easy to read as the white board schedules. Instead of posting a table schedule that lists all of the events for all of the Video Rooms, it might be better to post individualized schedules outside each of the Video Rooms that only list the events for the Room that they are next to

- we did the problem we kept running into was everyone kept stealing them. sorry we couldn't keep up. next year we try a better system.

I believe two rooms got switched on what was playing. For example on Sat Video room 5 and I believe video room 4 got switched. I was waiting for bubblegum crisis in video rm 5 and an anime about squid girl was playing. So I looked at the schedule (which I printed out) and it was not there. So I went back outside and read the schedule its suppose to be kimagure orange road. And I looked into video room 4 and it was playing there.

When I went back outside to check the schedule video room 4 had a hand written sign that said nostalgia room, -__-;;;; but i believe they didn't switch the schedules on the two.

- we here at fanimecon our sorry about that. that was a program guide error

Overall, there seemed to be a lot more issues with running the video equipment this year. People who couldn't find the right file would either continue looking for another 10 minutes instead of calling someone and asking for it to be sent over or would just play something random instead of what was meant to be played.

- i have to disgree with this last year we ran in to issues cause the files were 720p to 1080p and the equipment we had were unable to handle them. this year we went just 480p (this hurt me since i love hq files). as for broken files or not playing right it like that and were sorry about that. u have to understand the people who creat these files have to battle bootlaggers from stealing there subs and selling them back to public. we try our best to get them to play right that why when i said hey it not playing right we had a back up on a back up on top of a back up.
as for playing random stuff we do that when stuff ends early we call it filler. as for them looking for files for 10 min what time and day u talking about my friend. as far as i saw everyting was running on time except at night time when i have to get some sleep.

On that same idea, those operating the viewing rooms often seemed to just turn it on and leave. It would take a minute or so of attendees yelling 'Hey, it's broken!' for someone to get back and try to fix it.

- they were always there unless there we were changing staff. if u know a time and date when staff wasnt there please let me know i would like to look in to this. but our staff was either next to the projector or out side the door making sure people were not standing in the door way.

Proper time didn't seem to be alloted for all showings. Project A-ko was 90 minutes long, but since it was in an 1 hour time slot, it got cut off before the end.

-i was there for project ako and we showed the 2nd movie and as far as i saw it finished it was showen for 1hr 30min on sat 7:30 9pm it was right after vampire hunter d. maybe someone was showing it as filler.

No more Midnight Madness? Why? Personally I was a bit disappointed with the send off. I would have rather it show most requested videos instead of just all the shorts.

-i to am very sadden that this was the last midnight madness i found out at con this was the last was his last showing.

Some things advertised were't actually shown either. Like Highschool of the Dead and K-On!. I wasn't able to find them at least.

- titles are subject to change sorry about that

As for what was decided to play, I had no complaints. Most of what I was interested in seemed to play at around 4am, but at least it was played.
Angry Videogame Nerd, Nostalgia Critic and Zero Punctuation were all entertaining and got great crowd reactions.

- thank u so much we loved screening these programs for u. next year zp will be 3 hrs as well since i guys didnt get enough as well as video game movies were looking in to games like heavy rain and mortal kombat will see how it all turn out hey the new bat man ga,e comes out this year.

I enjoyed having Abridged Series playing on all days.

- oh yah abridge ser were a huge success and will bring them back again next year. with that being said do u want 3 to 4 hrs or is 2 hrs good enough. let me know my fellow con goers
