Would be fun to have a celebrity chef for something like Japanese Sushi or Ramen too, especially if they could setup a booth at the event to sell their food. Maybe have a food truck aisle in a nearby area (doesn't have to be next to Fanime, if it's hard to coordinate).

Fanime usually does a great job finding a variety of guests so hopefully one of these sparks something in their selection process.

Ideas and Suggestions / Re: Guests for Fanimecon 2017
January 19, 2017, 09:11:38 AM
Fanime (in general) does a good job with acquiring a few new or interesting guests and musical artists, but I saw two responses this/last year stating that Fanime staff looks and and reviews all suggestions like these and did a quick check of last year's thread and none of the guests requested were officially brought on as guests.

That's not to say every suggestion is feasible, but I do feel like for a number of guests suggested last year (and this year), they should have been possible (and affordable). The guests don't have to be a big one (like a Japanese Seiyuu, manga-ka, or director) but maybe one or two of the smaller or more local suggestions could be possible?

I recognize organizing and arranging these things is probably very difficult, just saying it would be nice to see our voices listened to in this regard (even if it's not mine... for example saw a few suggestions for Da-iCE last year, and they were the musical guest. I don't like them, but appreciated that a group who people requested were brought on).

Just my 2 cents. Sorry for the rant.

The Bluray/DVDs might be out before fanime. Chances might be good.
I wouldn't mind a watching a Makoto Shinkai's films marathon

Oh man, a Shinkai marathon in the Marathon room would be so amazing. I'd for sure do it !

The Pillows - Music group who has been featured on the FLCL soundtrack (requested them in the Musicfest thread, but thought I'd try here too!)

Azuma Kiyohiko - Manga-ka who did Yotsuba&! and Azumanga Daioh -- Don't know if he's ever done an American appearance, so would be awesome to have him at Fanime !

Kairu Photography - A friend of mine who does cosplay photography. Has presented a cosplay photography panel at Fanime before and has covered many conventions and done a lot of cosplay photoshoots.

Katsuhiro Otomo - Akira Manga-ka, 'nuff said.

Eguchi, Takuya - Voice actor for Hachiman from My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu (Japanese version)

Video Programming / Makoto Shinkai - Your Name
September 20, 2016, 03:34:11 PM
I would LOVE to be able to watch a screening (subbed) of Makoto Shinkai's new movie, "Your Name" or "君の名は" at Fanime 2017.

Any possibility of that?

Video Programming / Re: Video Programming Feedback 2016

Great assortment of material to view this year. Overall great but had some technical issues during Ruroni Kenshin (movie #2) which caused us to lose 30 min of the movie (so had to stop early). The main issue was loading subtitles since it was a different program / computer than the operator was used to. Hopefully similar blips can be avoided in the future.

I went on Monday, clearly if you see 1 or 2 items on the schedule you are interested in, it's worth going. The crowds are similar to early Friday when not everyone is off-work or done registering. I still got to see one of the BEST lara croft's of the weekend and get a few pictures of her (http://theconreport.com/wp-content/gallery/fanime-day-4/fanime_20130527_2524a.jpg - this one, even tho I didn't take this photo). That alone made it worth it for Monday for me haha.
