Really happy to see a Devilman / Go Nagai gathering this year!  For any classic Go Nagai cosplayers that may be suited up on Friday evening, you are also welcome at the Old School Cosplay Gathering - http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,21285.0.html

Two gatherings Go Nagai cosplayers can attend in 2018 - it's the end times, man!  :)

I am looking forward to it! I am hoping to do a Masquerade skit as well, something really simple so I would love to welcome all Devilman/Go Nagai character cosplayers to join!

Folks, don't hesitate to RSVP on the facebook event  :D

Devilman Crybaby and classic Devilman Cosplay Gathering 2018!

With the 50th anniversary of Go Nagai's career, and the release of Devilman Crybaby in January, the classic horror saga of "Devilman" has returned to the limelight!

All forms of Devilman characters from any canon welcome and encouraged! Be it 70's anime Devilman, 1980's OVA Devilman, original manga, Devilman Lady, or Devilman Crybaby! Heck, considering the fluid canon of Go Nagai's master works, any Go Nagai IP character is welcome to join us!

If you don't know me, call me Megamoth, or Emily, and I have been a big Devilman fan for about 20 years now, and I am really stoked to see it make a comeback! I will be cosplaying as Ryo Asuka from the 80's OVA, and I will also be posted at our Artist Alley table for most of the convention.

Of course, I will be updating this thread as we approach the convention and more details and forms are made available. I am looking forward to it!

Day : Sunday, May 27 (Day 3)
Time : TBA / 4PM-5PM
Meeting Place (MP) : TBA / Same as Location.
Location (L) : TBA

Cosplayers are welcome to post questions and list their intended character on this thread, or to the facebook event as they may wish.
NOTE: We are certainly aware that many of the Devilman characters have designs that, if followed precisely, would not be appropriate for Fanime's code of conduct and cosplay rules. Please take Fanime's rules into consideration when preparing for and when attending the gathering. Devilman is certainly an adult horror story, but that doesn't mean we can't have good clean fun!

Legal Statement : Fanime will be taking group pictures during the Gathering/Event this year. If you do not want to be included in those pictures please step aside for those photos. By remaining with the group when the pictures are being taken you give your consent to be photographed.

Photography Order : - TBA (We likely will be organizing this order by canon, and by character. Updates will be made as we approach the event.)

Okay so I think I've figured out my problem with step 5... although I dunno what to do about it. I am registered for the artist alley with my name including the middle initial, although my pre-reg account is my name without the middle initial. How do I fix this?

Please check your name and email to make sure they match the account number you are submitting.

I have tried many different methods of entering the data, but nothing has worked. I checked and rechecked my email, I tried three different emails, but to no avail. My artist account is 241.

Looks like I got my approval email after all. YEY!! Thanks all at the artist alley!!

However I am still stuck on step 5. The system claims my registration is not found. My co-artist got approved with my email for some reason, but I was not found when I entered my email. Whahuh? I tried all the emails I could have possibly used, but still not found. Please help!

I am guessing account numbers have little to do with the order of approval? I am #241, and I am concerned since I haven't gotten my confirmation yet. I know folks who certainly signed up after me have already been approved. I just want to make sure that something didn't happen to my email confirmation or anywthing D: !

Whenever I go to checkout with
paypal has be down for two badges.  I only want one.  So how do I get rid of this other badge?

I have that same problem.

Me too. My registration doubles whenever I try to check out.

I was wondering, for the AA reg process, will we need our Fanime membership number for the form? I ask since, last year, they had this on the contract, and also, I can't seem to find the membership number in any of the response emails from when I got my badge (back in November). However, in my housing confirmation, there is a confirmation number listed. Is this my membership number or simply a housing confirmation number?

Question: are there height/line of sight limitations for table signage? I would like to snazz up the table this year with pvc signs, as I have seen other AA exhibitors do, but I was wondering on what specific height we should build the PVC frame.

ps. I would also like to add how appreciative I am of the staff (I always like to add this, but as an event coordinator myself I am SERIOUSLY grateful) Also, for the most part, there have been some really cool and helpful people on these forums. To those of you who are part of the solution, you ROCK.  Thank you. ;D

For the seller's permit, it asks for things like Business Address and Name of Landlord (items number 40-49). I'm only selling planning to sell at Fanime. How should I fill this out?

Usually, you state your personal address as your business address, even if it is a one-time seller's permit. So you can use your own landlord. Just state the owner/property manager of wherever you live. That usually works.

For Seller's Permits, if you go to your local Board of Equalization in person, I know that you can get your permit in the same day, if it isn't too busy. So I hope that helps :)

I believe I have a table already. Thanks though!

9it just makes the check in process quicker if you mail us in everything before hand)

Okay. I do want to make things easier for everyone, so should I send in my sellers permit once I am notified of my position in line?

If I sent in the contract with the permit number on it, along with the registration number, do you still need copies of the permit and the copy of the registration email?

Hotel and Facilities / Changing my reservation
March 17, 2009, 12:08:10 PM
Hi there,
Sorry if this was answered elsewhere, I wasn't able to find it (my forum-fu is terrible). I realized that my current reservation doesn't include the night of sunday, May 24. I tried to change my reservation online (I'm at the Crowne Plaza hotel) and of course there were no more spaces, because the program tried to replace my current reservation with an entirely new one, instead of just adding a day. I was wondering if there was a way to simply add a day. I was instructed not to call the hotel directly, but should I anyway?

Is there something obvious that I missed? Which is entirely likely in my case...

Thanks!

Awesome! Solid numbers! Thanks Eric!! I wish I could send a thank you card or something... or, if I see you at the Con, maybe you can have a free pick from our artwork? Whether I get a table or not. I'll be bringing all that stuff anyway, just in case...

you may follow the procedures to get on the wait list. We will not know about what openings till the day of. We also offer the tables a a day by day basis, but those are also first come first serve.

Alright... so the tables are definitely sold out now? Or is the staff still working on creating space? Or we just don't know? I am sorry for sounding hasty but I am trying to make sense of all this. I am guessing, like the FAQ said, that the contract and everything I sent in are the "procedures" that I need to follow to get on the wait list. I just want to make sure I am doing everything right, and not jeopardizing my chance for a space.

Thanks again!

I believe all you need for Fanime is the Seller's permit number and a copy of the permit itself. All the other information the BOE gives you is for declaring the profits later.

So, if I get waitlisted, but I already have all the paperwork ready to go, and some golden hearted individual who already has a table decides to share with me, do I have to do anything extra? This is in the case that both of us have a signed contract, a seller's permit, and a full-convention pass (which I assume is the same as a membership), and one or both of us has put down the table fee. Is there anything else I am missing? I like cookin' by the book.
