I had some serious last-minute cancellations from party-members this week and now I have two rooms I don't need at the Crowne Plaza. If there's anyone that would like one or both of them, please email me (beta [at] snafucon.com), or reply here so that we can work something out.

I have the rooms reserved Friday night through Monday morning.

My financial situation is such that I can't really afford the one-night penalty, twice, and I'm sure the rest of my party isn't going to want to take on the added burden. So please, if anyone needs a room...

I did attempt to cancel and was told by CMR housing that the hotel would be keeping the deposit (one night) if I canceled. I did read the FAQ - "Cancellations after Monday, May 24, 2010 will incur a penalty of one night's room and tax for your reserved hotel." The Fanimecon website, and CMR housing tells me that the contract for the hotels allows them to keep the one night if canceled after April 29.

CMR Housing told me they can easily do a name change and submit new credit card information. So my only way out without penalty is getting someone to take over. 

This won't help you this year but for future reference, you can request a microwave at the Hilton for about $25. They go fast though so if you don't nab one the first night you won't get one. I can't imagine they'd have trouble with you bringing items like that.

I know it's not Pizza Hut, but there's a really awesome pizza joint that's a 5 minute walk away, and they deliver! We stay at the Hilton so I know they deliver at least that far, and in the restaurant they were really super-friendly to us even in cosplay. The year my group discovered it we tried like half the pizzas on the menu.

Less idiots running around with megaphones

OMG I love the megaphone guy! Most of his comments are pure win. But when anyone other than him grabs the megaphone it's not so funny... =\

I also want to throw in my dislike for Pleasure Island. I was able to sit through all of it, and Nightshift Nurses, but Pleasure Island was so BORING. You know it's bad when the audience starts singing to keep ourselves entertained because we've simply run out of material.

I know I've seen fansubs at Fanime before, but since I haven't been to the general anime viewing rooms in at least 2 years, I'm curious...

With all the news and discussion about the illegality of Fansubs, what is Fanime's policy? Does Fanime still show fansubs? Why / why not?

Actually I wasn't with him at all. He told me all about it, though.

I remember hearing something about guys in an elevator.


My favorite was the "Nice girl" who drew him a picture in artist alley then stopped talking to him after he asked her that question. He absolutely couldn't understand why.

I wanted to appologize to the six people my friend talked to this fanime.
He doesn't know better, he's a rather simple person.


My friend likes to go to Reno, small town that it is, and ask random people "Do you like bukakke?" because he likes the song.

No one in reno EVER understands.

I warned him that at Fanime, EVERYONE would understand.

He asked three males and three females that very question.

He really didn't know better.
He honestly couldn't understand why they responded the way they did.
