I've been keeping up with my dates, and it appears that next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Mobile Suit Gundam Franchise. So my suggestion would be for next fanime (2009) to Run mutiple marathons of past Gundam Shows.
What do you guys think of this?
I think they'd need at least 3 rooms to do it any justice.
One word: AWESOME!!!! :D
That would make my inner Gundam fangirl squee and melt with glee. ;D
I think since R:2 of Geass is ending this year in Japan, I believe we should have a Season 1 and two of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Marathon.
yayaya I love Geass!
we did it already.
Which year though?

Only saw Season 1 to the pubic, Why not R:2?
(To the other person, It was Fanime 2007 that held the marathon to Season 1.)

Because it will be showing on CN soon, by the time fanime 2009 comes around they will already be done with R2.

But doesn't the tc want a marathon with SUBS, instead of the dubbed version? :P Just asking.
It'll still be easy to find by then. Fanime marathons should be a LITTLE more obscure than "This is the latest big thing to hit Cartoon Network!" IMO.
I believe it should be subs, because the view of season one back in 07 was straight subs.
Unfortunately, both seasons are licensed by Bandai.

So support them by watching it on Cartoon Network or buy the DVDs when they go on sale.
If we're lucky, they may allow Fanime to show some of the episodes.

Yeah, I remembered season 1 is licensed by them, but I was always thinking about season two.
Good call. Maybe we could pop in a DVD or so and change the language and add subtitles.. I already have the volume 1 limited edition set of Geass here at home ..
I thought we could show season 2 (At least part of it or a Marathon, maybe once the DVDs came out.
Yeah, that would be awesome, Starting with one of the original Gundam seasons and then continuing...)
since this year will be the 11th anniversary of Gekiganger 3 finally ending, I think it would be the perfect opportunity to show this classic series. It's a big deal, but a lot of people missed out on it at the time and it's hard to get ahold of nowadays. So, I think a marathon of Gekiganger 3 would be one of the best things Fanime could do for older and younger fans. Though, I'll probably skip the last episode because I don't want it to end.
for those of you who are clueless, this whole post is tongue-in-cheek.
Don't you mean Nadesico? Gekiganger was a show within Nadesico?
Can people stop requesting anime you can just watch on T.V.? It's pretty dumb, I'd honestly like to see something more obscure.

Sorry, I don't watch the U.S. Version of Geass. I own the Japanese Version set of Season 1 and working on buying the Dvds (Imported of Season 2.) Season 2 of Geass, is what I was hoping for on the Geass marathon. Not Season 1. (As it is already Showing in the US.)
maybe there should just be a mecha marathon.
Won't season 2 of Gundam 00 end by then? That'll be pretty sweet if we could include that into the marathon!
Is it "non-stop"...? Oh my..I better go stock up on snacks.

I agree, but only with Guren Laggan ! LOL
We would have to see if Bandai Ent would let us marathon both R1 and R2 since it is
licensed and all.
Gokusen is a lovely, comic tail that could be viewed joyfully by all.
What could be played:
* Anime
* Live action season 1
* Live action season 2
* Live action season 3
@.@ I dunno...
The Live Actions kinda get boring after the first season... they're all the same after that...
I'm not sure about the Anime since I didn't watch it, though.
aka Astro Fighter Sunred
You should definitely play this series ;D
But the sad thing is, there are only 12 ep subbed right now out of 26 (it's by ANBU sub if some of you are wondering) :'(
It's only half an regular ep long, so only about 15 min long :)
I vote for a Golden Lighter marathon.
Holy crap I've been stickied! Anyways, since stuff out of the Norm would be prefered, how about less known gundam and other Mecha? I would love to see Turn A Gundam, L Gaim, Cobra, and Getter Robo.
IDEA we should have a random funny anime marathon (ex. Lucky star Paniponi dash and azumanga) oh and i havent seen this but i heard hare+GUU is funny
I'm just sayin'...show all of the live action Hana Kimi from Japan and I'll be there with bells on. :)
SAILORMOON. Any season. Subtitled. (Dubs are evil.)
Marathon, eh? *grins* I have a few suggestions for this too! =D
- Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni & Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai
- Black Lagoon
- Code Geass - Seasons 1 & 2
- Gundam00 (I need to catch up to this one.. haha)
- Sakura Taisen (All OAVs)
- Vampire Knight (Season 1 & Guilty)
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
- Gundam Wing
- Hana Yori Dango
- Slayers (all)
- Revolutionary Girl Utena
- Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (Original / A's / StrikerS)
- Full Metal Panic (Season 1 / Fumoffu / Second Raid)
Those are long, right? XD I'd enjoy watching them again though. ;)
Akagi
Kaiji
Gurren Lagann
Casshern SINS
skip beat would be awesome ;D
I think the first season will be over by then
I just watched the raws for ep 19 :)
oh and Toradora! is a cute funny one too! XD
what about the tales of ______ anime?
I think that'll be a good one to show. (It's Japan only anyways.)
Wangan Midnight marathon plz
Toradora!
Kannagi
Clannad After Story
show some ninja nonsense XD i love watching tht at cons XD
Hi Everyone,
so you want to know about what were showing for marathons? Well here is what we might be showing:
Dmc + movie
One Piece: Thriller Bark arc
Clannad AFter Story
Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens
Rosario + Vampire both Seasons
Toradora
Vampire knight total both Seasons
Bleach Arrancar vs Shinigami eps 190 – 212
I was also thinking about Marathoning Michiko to Hatchin but will see. Please remember this is NOT a final list of marathons for this year and Shows might change, but keep your eyes open to this link as we get closer to con time.

Are we allowed to show licensed shows? Here's some shows that were good but are often overlooked or is worth rewatching. I'm not sure what's good in a con environment so hopefully it's not too obscure. Let me know what you guys think. Unless specified, none of them should be licensed yet.
Kara no Kyoukai (movies 1 through 5, good time to recap for the soon to come #6)
Natsume Yuujinchou
Ga-Rei Zero
Chaos;Head
Akagi
Kaiji
ONE OUTS (subs are pending on last 3 eps)
kure-nai
Bamboo Blade (licensed)
Maria Holic
Minami-ke ~Okaeri~ (kekeke haven't watched this yet but i'm just throwing it out there)
Episodic comedies usually make for good marathon material, since you can take a break from watching it and come back not feeling lost as to what's going on. How about Gintama?
Hi Everyone,
here is the offical list of marathons enjoy and give me feed back please
Dmc + movie
One Piece: Thriller Bark arc
Clannad AFter Story
Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens
Rosario + Vampire both Seasons
Toradora
Vampire knight total both Seasons
Bleach Arrancar vs Shinigami eps 190 – 212
Michiko to Hatchin
Hi Jerry! Thanks for approving my marathon requests of Clannad After Story, Kannagi Crazy Shrine Maidens, and Toradora!
Please in the regular anime fansub room show the most popular Anime that is very hot in Japan named K-ON! Its like the next Haruhi but involves a bunch of High School Girls Trying to make a Band. Its so popular that I feel an Anime that is doing too well in Japan has to be shown in Fanime. Please put in a couple of episodes in the schedule. Thanks.
already in the schedule were showing 5 eps. i know its hot thats why im the otaku god hahahaha!
Clannad after story i am ready to get emotional
Oooh DMC ... as in Devil May Cry or Detroit Metal City. Either way it's win.
I know it's silly, because nobody seemed to like this movie, but I did. Why not a Dragonball or prefferably, a Dragonball Z marathon, since the Evolution movie came out?
Or for maybe an Asian Cinema Marathon, what about a Godzilla Marathon?
It is the Detroit Metal City marathon. It will be very interesting to see it with an audience. The live action movie was too funny.
