Title: Fairmont Hotel questions (taxes/ paying)
Post by: uwanoyoyo on January 08, 2017, 07:17:15 PM
I'm trying to see how much it would cost in total for hotels in advanced with my friends and we were wondering how much Fairmont charges for tax.
Was it 14% room+ 8%tax, etc??

Also for past experiences, was there an option for you to choose that would allow you to pay upfront with cash upon arrival, or can you only use a debit/credit card?

1) City Occupancy Tax 10% per room, per night
2) Convention Center Facilities District Tax (CCFD) 4% per room, per night
3) Business District Assessment (HBID) $2.50 per room, per night
4) California Tourism Assessment 0.065% per room, per night
5) Property Based Business Improvement District (PBID) $0.50 per room, per night

Don't forget to factor in parking which is valet only at Fairmont. As for paying with cash I know people have done so in the past, but I believe the hotel still needs a credit card for the security deposit.

Don't forget that most hotels will charge extra if using a debit card for deposits/incidentals.
your best bet is to call them directly to find out.
Fairmont San Jose (408) 998-1900
(The room rate will be different if you get it in the attendee block, but the taxes are the same)
