Hello,

Staff have their own room block. However, to take advantage of that, you must register per the staff rooming requirements. Otherwise, you have the general room reservation process available to you.

Dear FanimeCon Members,

Over the years, FanimeCon has grown substantially from our small club roots to one of the largest Anime Cons in North America. Along the way, we’ve experienced growing pains like any other convention or event. The staff of FanimeCon has worked diligently to always provide a safe and welcoming environment for all of our members. In the interest of further promoting safety for the FanimeCon community, access to the second floor of the convention center will require a FanimeCon Badge.

Some Key Benefits to this policy change:
  • Un-badged wanderers from outside our community are prohibited from entering the second floor of the convention center. We hope that this measure will provide a safer place to participate in the FanimeCon community to enjoy our programming and events.   
  • You may have noticed that the lines for many of our events and programming have gotten longer with the increase in attendance. As a result, getting everyone inside is taking longer. This new initiative will allow FanimeCon attendees to simply have their badge checked once at the entrance to the second floor. This will allow attendees to freely enjoy events and programming.
Some Major Changes:
  • The layout of the Convention will change a bit. Full changes of locations and affected programing will be provided on the website, social media, and the forums as well as all maps that FanimeCon will provide.
We thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding as we implement this new initiative. We welcome any and all feedback as we all come together to make this upcoming year another amazing and successful FanimeCon!

Fanime staff have been monitoring these threads, but some of the posters are correct: no announcements have gone out regarding housing. No information in the public sphere is confirmed. We are working to make sure that the messaging is consistent but as you can see, there have been some hiccups. There are announcements in the works, so please stay tuned for those.

Perhaps I'm weird but I actually miss LineCon on Day 0. All the random people you meet and hold conversations with... the crazy stunts staff did and the peeps that cosplayed on Day 0. And meeting up with people/seeing staff that you'll probably not see all of con. Though I'm glad its gone so I don't have to stress over whether I'm getting my badge that day or not.

We were thinking of just putting up stanchions and a sign that said LineCon....that led to nowhere...


Suggestion would be a free open stage for Stage 0, where there are no official productions, but just everything as fan choice or audience created; like anyone can take the mic, play their own games, or just sing whatever, without formal Stage 0 production. That way, the real Stage 0 can do their preparations, while we entertain ourselves.

The problem is that much of Thursday morning is setting up Stage 0. Doing such a thing also means that we may need to that cost much more moneiz.
