I'm sorry- did you register through the cmrus link? To complete a registration, you must enter your credit card information and complete the purchase then.

https://www2.cmrreg.com/fan_6a/register.aspx

You should have gone through a Payment Summary before clicking Accept Conditions and Submit Payment.
I have registered, but I wasn't given to the Payment Summary of where to input my payment. I registered under a group registration so do I have to wait until I get the minimum requirement to pay?

Thank you.

Does the Hilton have connecting rooms?  Our Anime Club wants to get 2 rooms connecting. Is this even possible?  Any advise for those that succeeded in getting this done?
You would have to speak directly to the hotel about a week before the con when you reserved your room. That's when Fanime Housing hands the reservation info to the hotels.

I don't remember getting charged for any deposit when checking in with the Hyatt for 2012... I hope it stays like that :p I'm hoping to get this hotel again! The Fairmont was just a nightmare to deal with -_-;

Yeah. I have booked at the Fairmont before and they charge an arm for their security from what I remember. I've stayed Marriott and Hilton too. They're not too bad with their charges.

Thanks Kyra! I emailed the Hyatt and got a reply.

" I am pleased to inform you that the credit or debit card is used just to guarantee the reservation, however you can settle all your charges at the time of checking out through cash or debit card."

The person didn't tell me about the security deposit or any other taxes even though I asked.

They might not charge, but safe than sorry, if rooming with others, get their money before checking in. When you check in, they actually will tell you if they do and how much. It varies on the charges.

It depends how much the hotel does or does not charge security deposit. With credit card, it won't show, but it will show in debit use. It's better before checking in to ask how much beforehand. If you have roommates, it's better to get their share of the room before they spent it all at the con.

Hotels will charge if there's any damages to the room and hence, the security deposit.

With debit card, you must have enough money in your account for them to approve or it will be declined. It would "take your money" during your stays and then, they will officially take it after a few days when you leave. So, it's "total amount" + "security deposit". Majority of the hotels will mention on their site before booking that there will be a security deposit. As to how much, it depends. It's good to email or call the hotel how much or if they do charge it.

At the Hilton, I know they do charge it when I used my debit card since I've been using it for years.

I usually drive up to Mitsuwa to stock up on Day 1 when I can find parking easily when I come back to my hotel. Other than that, it's usually Pizza My Heart or Extreme Pizza (delivery), Hydration, and where ever I hang out with my friends. Or go to Tanq for some chill time with alcohol.

I have ordered pizzas for the last few years at the Hilton and they delivered straight to my room. No issue or problems. Just it will take time for them to deliever, but it's always hot. <3

My mom is gonna take me to Fanime since I'm under 18 and it's my first convention. I already pre registered. So does she need her own badge to take me?

Taken off of their FAQ which you can read more: http://www.fanime.com/registration/faq/.

QuoteAll FanimeCon members must have valid government issued ID. If an attendee is under 18 and does not have a government-issued photo ID, they can still pick up their badge if their legal parent or guardian accompanies them and the legal parent or guardian has a valid government-issued photo ID that is consistent with information on the attendee's registration. The parent or legal guardian is not required to purchase a badge and does not need to accompany the attendee at all times, but they will still be responsible for the attendee's action.

Hey, I had a question - I sent an email to housing, requesting to be placed on the waitlist back on Feb 13th, then sent another email just generally asking about the lack of response on March 5th...all with absolutely no response.

Is this unusual? Should I begin worrying?

Did you check in your spam folder? It might got sent there because they do respond promptly.

My friend and I booked two seperate rooms at the same hotel (Marriott) from Thurs-Mon, is it possible to get them as connected rooms?

What would be the best way to go about that if we can?

There's a thread for that: http://forums.fanime.com/index.php/topic,16890.0.html .

With the location of the Swap Meet being moved outside of the convention center, what will Fanime staff be doing to provide security when traveling between the convention hall and the new swap meet location?

I am concerned about safely transporting my unsold items back to my hotel room at late hours. After midnight, especially on Thursday, sellers tend to pack up and leave one by one, and not all at once. There will not be the safety in numbers that happens when major events like the masquerade or black and white ball end. How can I be sure that I will be able to safely get between the swap meet and the convention hall?

I am pretty sure that the staffs are thinking in every possible way to keep us safe. Just give the staffs time to post up more information about it.

The best way I can think of is to have your group of friends be with you when you're about to leave and they can help out too.

Last year's swap meet was quite cramp as I had other sellers taking over space or con-goers stepping into other seller's spaces to see another seller's merchandise. Having more space is quite ideal since Fanime attendances has been growing every year.

B&W ball was held at the Fairmont last year from what I remember. I remember going to B&W on its first year and it was so crowded within an hour. I like the fact that Fanime is expanding its events at different places. It's true that it's not safe at night, but I've seen many con-goers stayed out late at night. It is always best to go out with groups at night.

Yay for more set-up time!

i plan on going on friday cuz i have skool earlier, and plan on goin sumwhere round evening time? how would the lines be during thn??

Give or take, it would be the same since almost everyone would be out of school by then and I think registration closes a bit later in the evening. Just wait until they have their times up as the con gets closer.

It's best to keep yourself entertain while in line because it flies quicker.

Registration / Re: What days am I paying for?
February 28, 2012, 08:40:15 AM
Beside a spiffy badge, if you preregistered early, then you can pick up your badge on Thursday which is Day 0 where most of us are there early to beat the Friday rush and just chill out with other con-goers.

I remember the B&W ball was at the Fairmont last year.

And yes, it is much better if you reserve a hotel under the con's discount rate which has more perks such as half or free parking or free internet depending on which hotel you're staying at.

I was able to reserve the rooms for my friends and I since we're going in large groups so luckily, she asked me to reserve it for her since she had class too. I just stayed up longer than usual for my "bed time" to reserve it. I was glad that I did and didn't care if I had to go into work that night with lack of sleep. lol.

Hotel and Facilities / Re: Over night parking?
February 11, 2012, 02:48:14 PM
It's true that hotel parking are usually full, but they do reserve for the guests though. The sign may say full, but if you are their guest, then there will be parking. That's what happened with me with the Hilton. They had full parking and I was their guest so they told me to park in the valet part until there's free space and I won't get charged. If you asked, they will help you.
