I do want to be able to make at least half of the costumes by myself. Right now, it's a mix of making them myself, buying stuff where I can alter half of them, and commissioning if possible. I love the idea of being proud to wear what I accomplished into making by myself. :)

That's what I'm planning! I'm hoping to finish a schoolgirl version of Taiwan from Axis Powers Hetalia by Kin-Yoobi. :D

@pSyChOgArDeN: Thanks! I'm also having my boyfriend cosplay as Japan partially 'cause it's one of the very few hetero fanpairings in the series. (Meaning I don't have to crossplay this soon.) ahaha Plus he did have interest in being Japan anyway so it works out. XD

@AthenaAngie: Taiwan's been appearing in Himaruya's sketches but has yet to have an official appearance in the manga or anime. She does seem to have a role in the Gakuen Hetalia dating sim from the concept art seen but it's uncertain due to game being incomplete. Here's a bit of info on Taiwan.

I am lol-ing and also reminded that I should watch Hetalia with boyfriend sometime so he understands Japan's character for when he cosplays. XD

Fanime '10 was my first con too. ;) I realized that there's smaller cons and cosplay events around the area so my friends are trying to attend as many as possible. (Meaning we have more excuses to wear our cosplays. 8D)

I am planning to tell my boyfriend that there will be other events where I'll wear my cosplays. (He doesn't understand how I can spend all my time making costumes for a con that only lasts a few days per year. But that problem shall be solved by attending smaller local cons and other cosplay events and anything else to rewear my cosplays ... and reminding him that it's a hobby that I'm very interested in that happens to be quite expensive if I allow it. :P)

My boyfriend has expressed concern for my supposed obsession with anime/manga and cosplay. But in actuality, the list for the anime/manga I have watched/read is really a LOT smaller than one would expect. And even with that, it's rare for me to actually sit on my butt and take the time to watch/read any of it. (The only series I'm really actively reading right now is D.Gray-Man and nothing else and DGM has become a monthly manga since last year.) ... The only reason why I know at least the premise of a series is that I look up wikipedia articles and other summaries online. :P

... In short, I shall explain this case to my boyfriend and make sure that it's not the ONLY things I talk about freely. >_>;
