Bwaha! 2008! It was so much fun at 2007, it was my first time going to Fanime Con AND cosplaying! For 2008.. I'm going to do Cloud again, but I'm going to fix it up even more! The wig I had was more poofy, so gotta do my best to style it better. Also! I'm going to do Kakashi from Naruto. D: He's just so funny with the book. :P

Much fun to be had at 2008! Woohoo!!

Fanime 2007 was the first time I ever went to an Anime Convention and did Cosplaying on Sunday! (Today!)  It was a pretty neat experience. Got a buncha hugs and people took pictures. :D And there was this one girl who took my picture, gave me a hug and kiss! :D It was the awesomeness. Anyways! Definately planning to go again next time.  8)

Oh, I was cosplaying as Cloud from AC. I was the one with the sorta puffy wig. It was a sorta bright yellow, more soft and puffy like instead of spikey.

I forgot to mention! I lost my camera before the Fanime Con, so I couldn't take any pictures soooo if anyone who took my picture could post it up so I could send it off to some friends? :D Thanks!

Hey! You're taking photograhpy in college! Neat! I always liked photography as a hobby. You think it's alright if I tag along with my camera also? It's just for a hobby and what-not. Not gonna sell any pictures or anything. Probably will give away extra copies and such to the participants!

Iiiiif I can't tag along for pictures, I might be doing some cosplaying so you can take pictures of that! First time for me going to a convention so I'm a newbie!

QuoteOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!NEWBIE!!!!! Come to the ball and the maidcafe!!!!

Where's the ball and maidcafe?

QuoteSure you're more than welcome to show up at the shoots, either as a model or as a photographer. I don't know if I'll be able to teach you anything about photography, but you're welcome to observe how I structure my shoots.

I took photography in high school, always loved it. I knoow a few things about it too, but the stuff we did in high school was like... dark room stuff, printing, etc. All with film! Digital is a step up from what I learned. :D I think.

I miight cosplay on Saturday, I'm almost 100% done with my stuff! I just gotta make some gloves hopefully finished before then! Where are you going to be taking the pictures? Juuuuuust like outside the building, or like an open place? Just curious and all. :D  The character I will be cosplaying is Cloud! From the AC movie! I'm sure a lot of people do him too, but hey! That sword he got is just the awesome-ness.  8)

I've almost finished my first costume! As a neeeewbie I went and picked something I'm sure sooooo many other people are doing, but oh well! It's the AC Cloud stuffies, anyways. I got the wig, the sweater, half skirt-thingie, buncha buckles and straps. Since I couldn't make the sword from the movie in time, it's like waaaaaay way way behind. But I'm going to make it outta plastic. :D So instead of the sword from the movie, I gooot the old fasion buster sword, the one that he leaves implanted in the ground, outside of Migar. I just gotta finish spraypainting it. :) The half sleeve deally I almost got done. I'm making it sooo the part that goes over my shoulder kinda, is held on by an elastic band! So I can like, "tear" it off for fun! Or whatever. The ooonly thing I think that I couldn't get to match all that well are... the boots! And the sun-glasses/goggles whatever he has in the begining of the movie. And ofcourse the sword. And maybe the gloves. :( I DID make my own gloves but it turned out horribly and was too small, so the stitching got all messed up when I tried to put it on. :( I do have the one glove for the hand that gets the sleeve though! That side is sorta like a normal glove. Just gotta work on the elbow length glove. Maybe I'll take a picture later on and post it up, as like what I've done so far. :)

I just got this idea! This is my first time cosplaying, but I think it would be neat if I had likeeee some theme music for my cosplay-ness! Like I'll take my iPod with me and get some speakers, but like supeeeer small-thin ones that I can like stick in the sleeve of my costume and have it play the theme music at a volume that isn't TOO loud, but loud enough to hear it if you walk by within a few feet.  :o But I haven't seen speakers like like that anywhere! Has anyone seen anything like it? Planning on running to the electronic store tomorrow, check out the speakers and stuff. Maybe if they have like a custom-build-it-yourself-thing I could work with that. Anyways! If anyone sees anything of the like, please tell me! Thanks!!  :D

Registration / Reg question
October 05, 2006, 06:25:28 PM
I remember reading somewhere on the site that it was 2+ for group reg.

-Edit: Ok! I found it. It says this exactly. "Group registration for two or more members will be up in the future. Please check back soon."

It's located at the part where you click to pre-reg. Click to the part where it has the selection "Single Registration" and below that in a maroon-ish text is says for two or more people.

Fanime Con '07 is going to be the first one I'm going too! And I'm working on making Cloud's AC costume!  :D I just don't know how to make a sword that won't be too heavy or flimsy.  :x

Quote from: "bahamutknightzero"The real question is who ISN'T doing a FF cosplay?

I know!... but I'm the newbie. This is going to be my first convention! And... was just curious to see how many people were going as any of the FF characters.  :D

Just wondering who else is going to cosplay any of the characters from Final Fantasy? :P

I was thinking about going as Cloud from Final Fantasy Advent Children, but I'm not sure how I could make the sword for a prop. I was thinking like... out of cardboard or go to something like Home Depot and get a few pieces of wood and like... carve the basic shape. Maybe get some special tools and such to make it look more realistic and then... paint it! Anyone have any good ideas or suggestions? Wood may be like a last resort for me because I don't want the prop to be too heavy. I also would like it not to be 100% cardboard because that may cause it to be a bit too flimsy. Any ideas are welcome! Thanks!! :D

This is going to be the first anime convention I'll be going to! I hope it's gonna be fun. I hope I don't make myself look silly    Anyways.. I was thinking about going as Cloud from Advent Children. But the sword!!   I don't know how to make the sword... Should I use just cardboard? Or maybe go buy pieces of wood and carve them into the shape of the sword?! That would be alot of work... but I still have time!!  :P So... if anyone has any suggestions or ideas... or anything!!! I'll consider each one! Thanks from the newbie! :D

Registration / Question about the Badge!
September 25, 2006, 12:45:00 PM
I printed out the two emails I received from the fanime pre-reg thingy. One said that I paid my $40.00 and the other was like all the info on how to pay with paypal, eCheck, or mail. Should I bring these with me to get my badge with my current ID? Or just print out the official notice with current ID that hellangel said earlier? Thanks again... Newbies, unite!  :D

Aahh! Must renew ID... expires April 17, 2007!!

Registration / Question about the Badge!
September 24, 2006, 08:50:01 PM
Ok thanks! So... just to be sure... it's on the first floor, near the enterance? Or am I going to have to run off to another room on the first floor? Thanks again! I'm a total newbie.  :D

I was thinking about as a Final Fantasy character... If I were to get a wig, would I have to get a haircut so it stays on better? Or... doesn't really matter? I've never wore a wig before.  :?

Registration / Question about the Badge!
September 23, 2006, 09:42:39 AM
I just pre-registered! And this is going to be the first Fanime Convention that I'll be going to.. As a newbie I have a question! Where do I pick up my badge? On some other topics and such I've seen that people say you get it from the staff at a booth or something... but where is that?! Pretend that.. I am like a 6 year old kid! Even though... I'm more than 3 times that age..  :?  I need specific directions or I get lost.  :D  Thanks for any feedback!

First time newbie here! I was thinking about attending the convention, but I have little to no knowledge about it. Normally where is the convention held? Is it going to be in a different place for the year 2007? What is the difference in price from registering early online and paying at the door, if that is possible? Thanks for any feedback! :D

-Edit-
Forgot to add this in.. If anyone knows the location of the event for the year 2007, what is the address? I get lost going almost anywhere so I would probably have to search mapquest or something for directions to the convention and then back home.

-Edit, again!-
Another thing I forgot! Sorry   Are there any rules about cameras, photography, and such? I wouldn't want to pay for everything, get ready, and get thrown out for taking a picture without knowing rules about it.   Thanks for any feedback!! :D

I have a pretty simple question about the Cosplay stuff. I have never been to an anime convention and was recently starting to get interested in going to one. If I were to go and dress up as a character, would there be some sort of fee? Are there certain rules you must follow? Is there a requirement to perform a skit on stage, or is that optional? Sorry if I sound like a total newbie.  :D  Thanks.

-Edit 9/20/06-
Thanks for all the feedback guys! I hope I don't look too silly when I go. I'll probably do a little bit of fitness training to look a little more 'in character.' Thanks again! :D
