Um What exactly can and can't press do
« on: March 28, 2012, 12:19:16 PM »

I was recently hired at a radio station (believe it or not they totally let me run an anime/Jrock related show) Last year I attended as a normal member and I'm really interested in covering the event as press but I don't really see the point if I'm not allowed into half of the events going on. The FAQ doesn't exactly tell me what I cannot go to outside of not being allowed to win prizes. Sooo Some clarification from people who have gone as a professional in the past would be nice?

The FAQ (http://registration.fanime.com/proreg_faq#differences) specifically states where you can't go. There will be an updated listing in the Professional Registration / Marketing room during the convention.

Oh Thank you, Ok let me see if I can understand this correctly :P (I don't mean to bug you admins about it btw XD ) Basically I can still go to all the events like the Black and White ball, and the Masquerade, etc? (provided im not participating and with the exception of the events that specifically said press can't be there)

You can attend all events, with the exception of one (which is a ticketed event due to extremely limited space). The B&W Ball and Masquerade are definitely events that you can go to.

Also, I'm the Head of Marketing (Professional Registration is in Marketing) so it's only right that I answer. :P
