I recently attended fanime for the first time in years and i'm excited to get to know new people.

I live in the south bay.. sunnyvale to be exact.

Anyone live around here that may want to chat/hang out sometime?

It's nice to find people with similar interests.

Well let me be one the first to say welcome to the boards, I live here in San Jose so thats a plus for FanimeCon, many people tend to live around here and we have gatherings pretty often so you must come out and join us sometime, well the next time. Oh yeah every friday people get together at TapX in Milpitas.

Welcome Queenshayera!

Yes, there's a good band of nerds that actually hang out besides Fanime.

Their usual "Friday night hang outs" is usually at the Milpitas Tapicoa Express
which is easily found on N. Main Street on the north edge of Milpitas heading towards Fremont.

A number of us from the San Jose area used to gather almost once a month... back in 2006 when we had nothing better to do. we nearly have a get-together almost every week. Then we realized we're poor so we only do major gatherings about once every few months.

Several groups of friends have naturally occured and good times and good friendships are all over. Come join us ne?

I think Today Friday May30th would be particularly good only because its only a week after fanime and its still fresh in our minds. We'll probably be exchanging stories about experiences both good and bad and do the usual 'bonding' over video games, anime, and pearl drinks and snacks.

i'll bring my PSP with some new games I bought, so give anyone of us a PM or ring and we'll be glad to see you there!

Welcome to the Fanime forums.  :D

We are poor?  When did this happen?  And if that is the case why do we constanly keep spending money on others?

On another note here is my late welcome.  We have many hang outs on and off the fanime boards.  If you have any messangers (aim, yahoo, msn) talking there will get you all the fun information needed.  Hope to see or hear from you soon ;D

I should be moving back to Sunnyvale in a few, and I have a good friend that lives in Sunnyvale. So, when I get there, maybe we can all hang out together!

Do they enjoy anime?

How about dinner after No Name on June 14th?

I think I could make anywhere in Bay to hangout.

XpHoBiaX

Yes, my friend loves anime!
And if all goes well, and I can move in and get settled, I may pull together a 'welcome home' gathering. (It's been 6 years since I moved away)
It will most likely be at one of the parks in Sunnyvale. ^.^

Hiya!  Fanime was a blast for met this year.  Was with the Twilight Knights Renaissance Guild teaching swordfighting and Tai Chi and such.  Good times.  I live in San Jose, but pass through Sunnyvale every day for work up in San Mateo.  My sister works in Sunnyvale at a Starbucks.  Heck, quite a few people I know live in Sunnyvale or Mountain View.  Strange.

Anyways, I also recommend the anime groups for fun.  If you're interested in physical activities at all, my swordfighting group practices just a couple exits away in Cupertino on Saturday afternoons.  Rides wouldn't be a problem to organize either.  Heck, having more women in the group helps the men.  When you beat the crap out of them, it helps to keep their ego in check.  I, of course, have no problem with ego, and am completely impervious to pride issues.  Oh yes.  Of course.

Besides that, hanging out one-on-one is also fun.

Oh sweet anime fans in South Bay.  I recently moved here so I'm looking for fun people to hang out with (it's hard to meet people when you have a full time job).  Are there any gatherings/events going on in the near future?

Edit: I'm in Mountain View btw.

ced1106

So did any of you make No Name? Mike, Nina, Jason and I went out during the break to Kirk's. I even won a SuperGALs miniDVD at the raffle. Woohoo.

Not sure if there are any age limits, but Meetup.com has various social groups. I'm going off to Red Rock in Mountain View to listen to live jazz music now.

No excuses!  :D
