Vizard are former Shinigami who have gone too far Hollow, but stopped somewhere into between the two worlds. So they do not fit into either, rather lonely, but as they were all forcibly changed at the same time, they all have each other. Which means that they stick very close to each other. They both hate and thank Aizen for this. And they hate both Shinigami's for turning against them, and Hollows for so nearly becoming what they are. They stay Vizards for mastering and controlling their inner Hollow; using its strength and power, while knowing that if they loosen their hold on it, they could slip too far to the other side.

Yep, thanked Urahara in the same breath that they thanked and cursed Aizen. Although I think they're slightly resentful towards Urahara because he promised he would reverse it and change them back to who they were, but couldn't follow through with it. For reasons unknown to us as of yet, if ever.

...there might be enough to mildly numb it then.... maybe ...
