Questions on Armor

Well im kinda a newb so i was wondering if there are restrictions on armor, mainly what can they be made of?
I was wanting to make armor and i have the operetunity to make it out of metal, i know that it can get very hot and i have alrady thought of this, thats not my question, i want to know if there are rules on what it can be made of. I read the weapons policy already and it doesnt really talk about it....

I don't know what the restrictions are, but the other thing to consider in making it out of metal is that it can get very heavy very quickly, depending on the materials, and that lighter stuff might be pretty flimsy or prone to damage -- something to consider in addition to the temperature factor.

All else aside, if you've got anything spiky or pointy on the armour, I know that'll be a definite no-no if it's metal.

oh thanks! thats good there are no spikes on the armor i want to make so i think im good on that part...

I just dont wanna get in trouble and have to take it off, or leave the con...
I just remembered that Pikminlink has 40 pound maille and as far as i know she hasnt gotten in trouble for it....
but i wanna make my armor out of alluminum so maybe its different?
