Shippuuden Naruto Headband

I need some help. I need the long black headband that Naruto wears in Part2/Shippuuden. Now, my plan is to purchase an already made headband, which I just did today, and harvest it for the metal plate and attach it to a custom made headband. My question is how do I remove the plate and attach it a new headband? Also, what material should I use to make the headband and pattern?

I have 3 naruto headbands that are similar to your description.
The material looks like a sort of canvas. And the plates were punched in. (Like grommets/button snaps are punched into shirts and pants.)

You will need to pop off the button like 'dots' to get the plates off. As from what I am seeing on my headbands. (they're for sale if you want them)
