Watched the first episode. Pure quality. The opening sequence is beautiful and the new OP is great, along with the ED change and artistic take they put on it.

Hella Misae-san. I approve.

Kotomi played a good role in it all, and I chuckled quite a bit.

I had no idea Yoshio was that dramatic either.

I don't think I need to say anything about Furukawa family; they're great enough as is.

Tomoyo service all over the place.

Kyou most of the time.

Overall I'm looking forward to how it pans out.

The new OP is amazing. The rest was good, too.

It bored me like the rest of the initial Clannad anime. Where is my Misae/Shima arc son?
I 'ctrl' through Visual Novels to collect CG's so I can trick people into thinking I actually played the game.

OMG ep. 2!  I don't really rank her that high, but man, that was great.  Can't wait for ep. 3. :3

Episode 4: Things become just a bit clearer. Don't know what they did to fix Sunohara, but I guess it all worked out in the end. I wanted to join the fight.

Also, RE: Episode 5 Preview

Looking forward to this RIGHT NOW GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Ep. 4 was great.  I thought Youhei was a cool character already and this episode just makes me respect him more.  The type of friendship between him and Tomoya isn't exactly new, but it is still moving in its own way.

Funny, I played this arc in the game like 2 days ago (partly coincidence) and I was surprised at how good a job they did working it into the plotline of the series. They changed a lot of the circumstances, but kept other things basically the same. They even pretty much EXACTLY duplicated the ending CG of the path.

Quote from: Spoiler - differences from the gameThe game doesn't have two separate visits from Mei; this all happens the first time around. And Nagisa barely appears in the path; you briefly meet her in the beginning, and that's it. Sanae gets involved because Tomoya and Sunohara encounter her randomly on the street and she recognizes Tomoya's uniform as someone who goes to Nagisa's school. The game also pushes more towards a Mei-Tomoya pairing. (Their fake date is longer and ends with Mei kissing Tomoya on the cheek; also she stays at Tomoya's house rather than the two of them staying at Nagisa's.) They also made up or tweaked a lot of scenes to include more of the secondary cast.

Of course, this path conflicts less with Nagisa's path than, say, the full Fujibayashi sisters arc(s), which would really be a mess to try and work into the same timeline as the rest of the anime (which explains why we were so noticeably shortchanged in the first series).

Re: Episode 5

I love this arc already. Yes for Misae screen time. Suplex some more ></

Ep. 5:

There's hella new material not from the game in this arc.  On one hand, I think it's cool to get exposition, but on the other, I think the game's story was enjoyable in its simplicity.  There was a charm in her character in how you'd get to know her, but you didn't really know any details about her past; just an overview.  It kept a certain mystique that I think kept her and her scenario more charming.  I'm not sure if I want all this story.

I'll still watch it though.

Edit:
I hear I mayhaps have missed some of her scenario in the game?  I think I'll have to go back and play it to see.

I played the game version first, and now that I've seen the episode, I'm starting to wonder if I like the anime version better. I think they kept the spirit of the arc pretty directly.

This series hits me in the heart.

I s'pose I'll jump on Episode 6:

Quote from: Spoilers blankedWhat is it with anime girls and their jealousy of the traps they create? The result wasn't that epic.
His confession to her, however, was funny like all sorts'a hell.
I'm surprised they didn't play on the fact that Shima was a ghost. I mean, I haven't seen the original or played the game, but... perhaps that's just a storytelling development that was missed early on?
I don't get the warm fuzzies that easily, but I gott'a say. Corny/pseudo-predictable plot aside, this one pretty much gets my current "D'awwwwwww" award.

(What? zoupzuop2 posting again... about anime? Truly you jest. =P )
Haven't been here much since '09. I said some stupid, stupid things before (and after) that.
