What internet browser do you use and prefer?

I love Firefox! Mainly for the wonderful applications and addons.

SOawesomeness

Firefox hands down.
Safari sucks on that the version I have doesn't allow for tabs. It got really annoying having 5+ windows open on one 10" screen and trying to sift through them...

I've never used Opera, but then again I hear that a lot of website that I visit for various things don't support that browser.

Opera good - but very few sites support it fully. Has issues...

Internet Explorer- IE8 is suppose to be good...but I hate all things microsoft.

Mozilla Firefox - Sexy and my favorite.

Google Chrome- An up and coming browser, it has potential...still needs more development.

Oh I haven't used Google Chrome. Totally forgot about it actually.

I agree that Chrome has a lot of potential.  However, it takes some getting used to as far as the interface goes, and it still needs a lot of work (problems with Flash comes to mind).  I used it the past month, and while it has a lot of advantages in terms of performance and stability (a tab gone bad doesn't bring the whole browser down with it), I ended up going back to Firefox because of Flash and other incompatibilities.

Does Chrome have the ability for plugins like Firefox?

Not at this stage in the game, no.  They still have to figure out how to sandbox plugins along the same lines as they do for each tab.

FireFox, even though it's slow for me at times. Maybe it's this old Mac I'm using.

My only complaint about FF is that it is a memory hog when using it. >_<

I use Firefox for the extensions. They're too useful.

If I couldn't use Firefox, I'd definitely switch to Opera. It has most of the features I want built-in, and it's really fast and standards-compliant. Chiri, Steve.Young, I don't know about you, but I've never had problems with Opera support among websites. In fact, there's at least one site I know of (the Java applet for logging work-study hours at my college) which works fine for Internet Explorer and Opera but simply refuses to work in Firefox.

Oh, another favorite browser of mine is Lynx, but that's for other reasons entirely.

that means you need more ram.

Nah.  It just means that Firefox needs to work on how it handles memory.  That's why Chrome has an advantage there.  It doesn't use quite as much memory, and when you close a tab, it does a better job of letting go of that memory.  Of course, how much memory Firefox takes up partly depends on how many extensions you have plugged into it to begin with.  Hopefully, Chrome will spur the Firefox team to tighten things up in terms of memory usage and handling.

I love my Firefox, as it easy to use and prettyful.
IE is ugly and annoys me.
I haven't used others, as I' comfortable with FF.

At work, It's I.E.  (no choice)     On my own PC's /  Macs I mostly use Safari.
Tried Opera, Found it Useless, and slow.

I'll have to check out Chrome.

I have 2 gigs, but still uses a good portion of it. I don't notice a performance hit really, but if you go and monitor your processes it is one of the biggest programs I'd imagine.

You guys are gonna laugh. I'm using AOL :-[ the crappy browser. Since this is not my computer I can't change it so I'm stuck with it
