Hey everyone! Kinda new here. :3

I've never been to Fanime before, but when I was going though their hotel program, I noticed that in the special request area, they didn't have an option about having two rooms next to each other, or even a suite option. Is there any way I can get either of those options? Thanks!
You can also find me at Cosplay.com under the same name!

I have known CMR to accommodate such requests. It would be best to call them and ask.

If you call the Fanime housing, they can add it in as a request, but it is actually not a request the hotel has to uphold. The best method, I have found at least, is call it in with your Fanime blocked rooms. And then about a week before hand, you'll want to just keep contacting the Marriot with the request that the rooms be together since it is around this time that Fanime Housing officially moves the reservations over to the Marriot. Calling them prior to the information exchange will prove useless to the Marriot staff since they won't have a file to specifically state which rooms are being joined together.

Make sure that you have them understand that you are alright that the connecting rooms will have one room with one king, and the other room with two queens. There are normally very few rooms that have connecting with both occupying two beds. But if the adjoined thing is what you really want, make sure to stress it as much as possible.
As for going to the Marriot for this, seriously, do not back down with what you want.

Dirty secret of the hotel industry.  They don't actually assign rooms until you're bright shining face is standing infront of them.  Basically they know they have 200 King roms, and 250 Queen rooms and so on and so forth.  They put you in a pile of people titled "King" and then they divide that pile into "want's non smoking" and then they move on.

When you actually check in they assign the room.  So if you want something special be it connected rooms, a fridge, no smoking, a certain view make sure you have it listed with them in advance...but also make sure to get your happy butt there to check in early.
Sometimes I'm glad I became a teacher.  Other times I wish I had simply become a ninja.

I have known this to be true. Last year I showed up nice and early and I basically checked in for my room and my sister's room and asked for our rooms to be adjoined. It just so happened they had someone staying a bit longer in the rooms we requested, so we ended up being a floor apart, but still within a 30 second walk of each other.

Anyways, go in early and ask, they are likely to accomodate.
