Jim, why can't ballet shoes work?  I can vouch for them, I've been wearing them almost every day for the past sixteen or so years.  They're the safest shoe out there, and if you're not worried about getting your foot stepped on then can we wear them?

We would like to minimize feet casualties on the dance floor, you never know who may step on your feet with boots or heavy shoes or even heels!  So just to be on the safe side we are not going to allow ballet shoes on the dance floor.  Sorry.

wait, how are they less safe than open toed ballroom shoes and flat shoes?  just as easy to get your toes damages in those.

hello..just wondering if this dress is ok

http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/frame01.asp?type=gothic&subType=dress

The dresses on that are on that page look fine for the Ball.

michiko nakano - If the ballet shoes go along with the cosplay then they will be allowed in, if not then I am going to have to say no to the ballet shoes.  We would like for everyone to have their feet protected and also adhere to the semi-formal dance code if they are not in a cosplay.

I actually had a couple questions. Would Rossiu's outfit be formal enough (being a quasi military uniform) or Gilgamesh from Fate/Stay Night in his full armor?

Just a clarification -- the rules state no sandals, but that means flip-flop and other informal sandals, right? Not open heels, which can be considered sandals, but are formal?

I'm thinking of something with similar styling to this:

Just to let you know, you posted the link for the entire dress section, not a specific dress. To link a specific dress, you have to right-click on the link and say "cop shortcut." I'm curious which dress you are looking at. :D

I would say that the Rossiu outfit is fine.  As far as Gilgamesh in his armor, I wouldn't recommend it because I am thinking you may not be able to dance as well in the armor.

The shoes you posted would be fine.  I consider those heels and they are formal enough.  With feetwear for females, you need to have a backing to the shoes.  No backing, no dancing.  Hope that helps.

Would something like this be ok? Its the male High Priest from Ragnarok Online.

Would be wearing a black shirt or something under cause it is open at the top there, would a black t-shirt be ok since its mostly concealed by the outfit, or would I have to switch to a button up shirt?

Yura Kyo Aures

It is most definitely alright, anything dressy and mostly modest is welcome.  I bet you'll look great!   :)

Black Vans are a no no.  You will not be allowed in by rovers with them on.  I hope that helps.
